The CDC places the county in the \u201csubstantial\u201d community transmission category.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In terms of vaccination, 70.8 percent of the county is fully inoculated against the virus while 79.9 percent of county residents have received at least one shot, according to the CDC.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>Newel encouraged those who are unvaccinated to receive the jab and emphasized boosters for those who are already vaccinated.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"5.6533333333333\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Elites Vs. Gavin Newsome (D) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcbayarea.com\/news\/local\/santa-cruz-county-reinstates-indoor-mask-mandate\/2738343\/\">emphasized<\/a> mask-wearing and vaccinations ahead of Thanksgiving.
