Since then, some social media users have been sharing a video of police aggressively removing someone from a wheelchair, claiming it was taken in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>This particular tweet reads, \u201cAustralia anti-lockdown protest ~ Cops fighting a disabled man and smashing his wheelchair. The Lowest of the Low.\u201d&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2019\/07\/09\/fact-check-photos-detention-centers-children-crowded-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Viral Photos Of Crowded Detention Centers Were Not Taken During The Trump Administration)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The video is not, however, from the recent Australian protests. Through a reverse image search of key frames, Check Your Fact found a longer version of the video posted on Twitter in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/natleef\/status\/1283539896171245573?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">July 2020<\/a> stating it showed a Black Lives Matter protest in downtown Los Angeles. Black Lives Matter protests took place for months across the U.S. after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/05\/31\/us\/george-floyd-investigation.html\">George Floyd<\/a>, a Black man, was killed by white then-police officer Derek Chauvin in May 2020, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/07\/23\/us\/black-lives-matter-protests-continue\/index.html\">CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The video is tagged as being in Los Angeles, and the words \u201cLos Angeles Police\u201d are clearly visible on a police officer\u2019s uniform 15 seconds into the video.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"7.153024911032\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">This is what happened in downtown LA yesterday. This was a PEACEFUL protest!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The man in the wheelchair was identified as Joshua Wilson, according to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/police-throw-black-lives-matter-protester-out-wheelchair-then-break-it-viral-video-1518381\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Newsweek<\/a>. Los Angeles police <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lapdonline.org\/newsroom\/arrests-made-related-to-protests-in-central-division-nr20170ma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">claimed<\/a> in a July 15, 2020 statement that Wilson \u201cpunched an officer in the face and a use of force occurred between the officers and Wilson.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A video\u00a0shared on Twitter claims to show Australian police beating a person in a wheelchair during a protest against COVID-19 restrictions.
