Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) regarding her efforts to divest taxpayer money from policing. The legislation, known as Tlaib\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/breatheact.org\/\">BREATHE Act<\/a>, would allegedly empty out all federal prisons within the next 10-years.<\/p>\n<p>Psaki responded to a question on Biden\u2019s remarks that he was reportedly proud of the Michigan congresswoman\u2019s initiative. However, she said this did not align with Biden\u2019s policies.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cLet me be absolutely clear, the President does not support abolishing prisons,\u201d stated the press secretary. \u201cHe does not support defunding the police. He thinks measures like that will make us less safe and he would not support legislations that includes it.
