The Daily Wire has decided not to name the suspect per its policy against naming the alleged perpetrators of mass casualty incidents.<\/p>\n<p>Dana Perino tied the incident to policies that are still supported by members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/aoc-faces-backlash-for-urging-lowering-of-bail-amounts-after-people-killed-at-christmas-parade\/\">House Progressive Caucus<\/a>, saying, \u201cWhile many are furious and wondering how this could happen, members of the squad, well, they are doubling down on criminal justice reforms. To what extent have you wrestled with any potential downsides of releasing into society every single person who\u2019s currently in a federal prison?\u201d Swan asked.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Tlaib appeared to laugh off the question, saying, \u201cI think everyone\u2019s like, oh my God, we\u2019re going to just release everybody.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Swan immediately objected: \u201cBut that\u2019s what \u2014 that\u2019s what the act says.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Tlaib pushed back, arguing that her support for the bill was based on the fact that so many who were mentally ill were being incarcerated rather than being treated.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe congresswoman\u2019s an idiot,\u201d Watters said after Perino aired a clip of the interview. \u201cAnd she has power, so that makes her a very dangerous idiot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Perino went on to note that even the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/you-bet-its-guaranteed-to-happen-leftist-waukesha-da-in-2007-on-chance-released-criminals-would-kill-others\/\">Milwaukee County District Attorney<\/a> who had pushed for the bail reform that had allowed the Waukesha driver to walk out of jail had known that something like that was likely to happen as a result.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs there going to be an individual or put in the treatment program who is going to go out and kill somebody? You bet, guaranteed. It\u2019s guaranteed to happen. It does not invalidate the overall approach,\u201d he said in 2007 \u2014 and Perino turned the question to cohost Jessica Tarlov: \u201cI think that yeah, this actually invalidates the approach.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tarlov agreed, adding, \u201cAnd I think that Rashida Tlaib did herself no favors in that interview and I don\u2019t know why anyone should be interviewed by Jonathan Swan unprepared.
