Because if they did not say that, immediately he is a lame duck. Immediately. And we\u2019re three years from a primary,\u201d Perino explained. \u201cI think they have to say he is running because the alternative to them right now is really, really bad. You don\u2019t want to be a lame duck.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs that the reason, Kristal?\u201d MacCallum turned the question to Knight. \u201cYou are so early into this term you don\u2019t want to be telling people he has already decided he is not going to run.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbsolutely. It is a little unusual that we are talking about 2024 and it is still 2021,\u201d Knight replied. \u201cWe should expect every incumbent president to run for reelection. He has gotten the Build Back Better plan through Congress headed to the Senate and we don\u2019t know what the 2022 mid-term elections look like. If the Democrats are strong we should expect the president to run stronger in 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before turning to Schlapp, MacCallum noted that a number of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/time-to-pass-the-torch-senate-democrat-elected-during-vietnam-war-says-he-wont-seek-re-election\/\">Democrats<\/a> \u2014 some with plum positions on key committees \u2014 had either announced their <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/pelosi-on-her-heels-two-more-democrats-call-it-quits-ahead-of-2022-midterms\/\">retirement<\/a> or said that they were not planning to seek reelection in the 2022 midterm elections. That same trend, she pointed out, was seen among Republicans in the months leading up to Democrats winning back control of Congress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat do you read into that?\u201d she asked Schlapp.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone in this town knows the Democrats won\u2019t have the majority in the House of Representatives after next year\u2019s elections. That\u2019s a pretty foregone conclusion,\u201d Schlapp replied, saying that even prior to 2022 the Democratic Party\u2019s hold on the House was slim.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere is the thing that\u2019s amazing. Joe Biden\u2019s numbers are terrible. Most of these polls \u2014 they tend to grade on the curve for the Democrat \u2014 his numbers are historic lows,\u201d Schlapp continued, adding that Democrats had already seen a wave of losses in places like <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-republican-glenn-youngkin-wins-governors-race-in-virginia-experts-project\/\">Virginia<\/a>, Seattle, Minneapolis. \u201cIt was defeat of CRT, defeat of defund the cops \u2026 All over from sea to sea the Democrats with this socialism and extremism were rejected.
