San Francisco police restricted vehicular access to Union Square \u2014 one of the city\u2019s most popular tourist destinations \u2014 after the heist on Friday night, hurting ailing local retailers anew.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote readability=\"25\">\n<p>Retailers who already suffered looting in the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020 have had enough, and are speaking out against the left-wing Mayor and other public officials who have failed to protect them. The&nbsp;<i>San&nbsp;Francisco Chronicle<\/i> reported:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe mayor and her entire team should resign,\u201d said John Chachas, whose family owns luxury retailer Gump\u2019s on Post Street in Union Square. \u201cYou can\u2019t really run a retail enterprise if you have to board up the windows five weeks before the critical Christmas selling season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gump\u2019s is re-evaluating being in San Francisco, said Chachas, the company\u2019s chairman and CEO.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that the city can\u2019t maintain sufficient order that businesses can operate (in) without fear of being damaged,\u201d he said, leaves him to conclude that officials may have \u201cno understanding of the concept of how an orderly city is necessary for commerce to function.\u201d That means \u201cwe can\u2019t operate a business. \u2026 \u201cSo we will evaluate our options to be elsewhere unless this nonsense ends.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>San Francisco has already been suffering a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/07\/02\/san-francisco-rampant-shoplifting-forces-stores-cut-hours-close\/\">surge<\/a> in shoplifting, thanks in part to the statewide Proposition 47 of 2014, which made thefts up to $950 mere misdemeanors, which local prosecutors are more reluctant to pursue. Moreover, the city has had two successive district attorneys \u2014 George Gasc\u00f3n and Chesa Boudin \u2014 who have prioritized \u201ccriminal justice reform\u201d over law enforcement, presiding over a rise in petty crime, homelessness, and public nuisances like drug use and even defecation.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Mayor Breed championed cause to \u201cdefund\u201d or \u201creimagine\u201d the police in the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd last summer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/05\/06\/sf-mayor-announces-3-75-million-redirected-law-enforcement-black-businesses\/\">diverting<\/a>&nbsp;some money from law enforcement to black community organizations, though some police funding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfweekly.com\/news\/is-san-francisco-re-funding-the-police\/\">rose<\/a>. The city has also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/law-and-order\/2021\/10\/15\/san-francisco-puts-nearly-200-unvaccinated-first-responders-on-leave-while-crime-surges\/\">enforced<\/a> vaccine mandates among first responders, putting nearly 200 personnel on leave in October.<\/p>\n<p><em>Joel B.
