The Republicans are looking to take back the House and possibly the Senate from Democrat control.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Next year, all 435 members in the House are up for reelection, and 16 Democrat members have already&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/18\/droves-of-democrats-exiting-the-house-create-massive-problems-ahead-of-midterms\/\">announced<\/a> they are retiring or running for a different position, such as the Senate or in a local or state election. Additionally, nearly one-third are&nbsp; up for reelection in the Senate, with many members announcing their retirement plans.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Republicans in the generic polls have dominated. Numerous polls have shown Republicans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/midterm-election\/2021\/11\/07\/realclearpolitics-republicans-lead-generic-ballot-first-time-since-2014\/\">beating<\/a> Democrats in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/10\/poll-republicans-edge-out-democrats-in-generic-ballot-as-midterms-gear-up\/\">generic<\/a> ballot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/03\/poll-republicans-lead-democrats-in-generic-congressional-race\/\">leading up<\/a>&nbsp;to the election when respondents say who they would rather elect to represent them as&nbsp;Democrats continue to pass partisan agenda items, such as the infrastructure package and the reconciliation bill.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally,&nbsp;House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy\u2019s (R-CA) last filing showed&nbsp;his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/midterm-election\/2021\/10\/13\/gop-leader-kevin-mccarthy-shatters-fundraising-record-nearly-60-million-for-house-gop\/\">new record-breaking fundraising<\/a> total of $57.8 million banked for the House Republicans in the first nine months of 2021.<\/p>\n<p>As the Republicans gain momentum trying to unseat Democrats and take back the House in the midterms,&nbsp;McCarthy, at the time, touted his ability to raise huge sums of money with 13 months remaining before the election.<\/p>\n<p>In the Senate, the Cook Report, and the&nbsp;University of Virginia Center for Politics both shifted&nbsp;several Democrat Senate seats to \u201cToss-up,\u201d shortly after&nbsp;Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin built momentum in recent months on the campaign trail with Republicans&nbsp;and won Virginia\u2019s gubernatorial race after&nbsp;initially being the underdog.<\/p>\n<p>The Cook Political Report <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/19\/nolte-three-senate-seats-moved-from-lean-democrat-to-toss-up\/\">changed<\/a> three major&nbsp;Democrat Senate races, a year ahead of the midterms:&nbsp;Sen. Mark Kelly\u2019s Arizona Senate seat,&nbsp;Sen.&nbsp;Raphael Warnock\u2019s Georgia&nbsp;Senate seat, and&nbsp;Sen.&nbsp;Catherine Cortez Masto\u2019s Nevada&nbsp;Senate seat, all were changed from&nbsp;\u201clean Democrat\u201d to&nbsp;\u201cToss-up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The University of Virginia Center for Politics also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/03\/analysis-democrat-senate-majority-now-in-serious-jeopardy\/\">changed<\/a> the&nbsp;Senate seats in&nbsp;Arizona,&nbsp;Georgia, and&nbsp;Nevada from&nbsp;\u201cLeans Democratic\u201d to&nbsp;\u201cToss-up.\u201d However, the&nbsp;Center for Politics changed&nbsp;Sen.&nbsp;Michael Bennet\u2019s Colorado&nbsp;Senate seat from&nbsp;\u201cSafe Democratic\u201d to \u201cLikely Democratic,\u201d noting, at the time being, the seat was not yet a&nbsp;\u201cToss-up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Breitbart News\u2019s John Nolte has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/19\/nolte-three-senate-seats-moved-from-lean-democrat-to-toss-up\/\">written<\/a> that \u201cthe U.S. Senate is in control of Democrats and split evenly 50-50\u201d and the Republicans \u201cneed&nbsp;only gain one seat next year to seize control of the chamber.\u201d&nbsp;Nolte noted, \u201cEverything points to a GOP blowout next year, maybe even what might be remembered as a political realignment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>Jacob Bliss is a reporter for Breitbart News.
