He noted Coca-Cola\u2019s and Nike\u2019s advocacy for narratives associated with the Black Lives Matter campaign and operation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Breitbart <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/social-justice\/2021\/02\/22\/claim-coca-cola-antiracism-training-tells-workers-try-to-be-less-white\/\">reported<\/a> on Coca-Cola\u2019s pushing of \u201cantiracism\u201d politics on its employees in February, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DrKarlynB\/status\/1362774562769879044?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1362774562769879044%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theblaze.com%2Fnews%2Fcoca-cola-backlash-racism-training\">directing<\/a> them to \u201cbe less white.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A 2018 assessment by the NIH <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nih.gov\/news-events\/nih-research-matters\/factors-contributing-higher-incidence-diabetes-black-americans\">addressed<\/a> the higher rates of diabetes and obesity among black Americans relative to white Americans. \u201cIn the U.S., black adults are nearly twice as likely as white adults to develop type 2 diabetes. This racial disparity has been rising over the last 30 years,\u201d the NIH declared. The agency added, \u201cA&nbsp;study found that biological risk factors\u2014including weight and fat around the abdomen\u2014are primarily responsible for higher rates of diabetes for black Americans compared with white Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>HHS <a href=\"https:\/\/minorityhealth.hhs.gov\/omh\/browse.aspx?lvl=4&amp;lvlid=18\">shared<\/a> similar data in 2018 contrasting national rates of diabetes and obesity between black and white Americans:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>In 2018, non-Hispanic black Americans were twice as likely as non-Hispanic whites to die from diabetes.<\/li>\n<li>African American adults are 60 percent more likely than non-Hispanic white adults to be diagnosed with diabetes by a physician.<\/li>\n<li>In 2017, non-Hispanic black Americans were 3.2 times more likely to be diagnosed with end stage renal disease as compared to non-Hispanic whites.<\/li>\n<li>In 2017, non-Hispanic black Americans were 2.3 times more likely to be hospitalized for lower limb amputations as compared to non-Hispanic whites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ramaswamy remarked, \u201cIf you\u2019re Nike, you would rather condemn slavery 250 years ago in the United States without reducing your reliance on slaves to make your shoes today in Asia to, by the way, sell $250 sneakers to black kids in the inner city who can\u2019t afford to buy books for school.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In May, Nike <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CAygJoHABcX\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link\">derided<\/a> America as pathologized by \u201cracism\u201d via an Instagram video.
