Lamon is competing against seven other candidates for the Republican nomination; the winner will face Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>This week, I had the opportunity to speak with Lamon about a variety of issues, including his pledge to only serve two terms if elected, and refusing to take money from Political Action Committees (PACs).<\/p>\n<p>According to Lamon\u2019s website, \u201ctoo many politicians in Washington have their best interests in mind, not yours. They are bought and paid for by lobbyists, answer to special interests, and fail to deliver for the American taxpayer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When I asked Lamon if he planned to only serve two terms if elected, he replied: \u201cAlready, I have signed the two-term limit pledge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for PAC money and special interests, Lamon stated that such things can be \u201ca very corrupting force\u201d as \u201cthose donations that are given come with strings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>I don\u2019t need to be tied to those who\u2019ve given contributions [in a] given interest via the lobbyist or the PAC. I\u2019m for the taxpayer, and I\u2019m for the American citizen, and fortunately, I can be pure in doing that when I\u2019m there without having those strings attached.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am fortunate that with the American people, in particular the people of Arizona, that 90% of the funds received to date, as reported on our financial filings, have come from here in Arizona,\u201d Lamon added. \u201cYes, a large portion of that is mine because I believe in this country, and I\u2019m going to Washington to be the America First lobbyist.
