Thank China and Joe Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust a few days back, gas prices in California hit their highest level ever,\u201d Horowitz wrote Friday. \u201cThis week, however, some of the pressure has started to lift.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/18\/joe-biden-treasury-department-comptroller-saule-omarova-gasoline-prices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED:\u2018A Tricky Question\u2019: Top Biden Nominee Saule Omarova Struggles To Answer Question On Whether High Gas Prices Are Bad For Americans)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Friday\u2019s story pointed to Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/18\/joe-biden-asia-china-india-japan-oil-reserves-gasoline-prices\/\">effort to coordinate a release<\/a> of U.S. and Chinese petroleum reserves, increasing the world\u2019s supply of oil. (Alex Wong\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Major domestic and foreign oil price indices <a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/oil-price-charts\/#prices\">declined<\/a> more than 3%, with prices dropping below $80 per barrel Friday. Crude oil prices are the main factor in gasoline prices rising or falling, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eia.gov\/energyexplained\/gasoline\/price-fluctuations.php\">according<\/a> to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).<\/p>\n<p>The average cost at the pump hit $3.42 per gallon on Friday, up more than 60% compared to one year ago, AAA data <a href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/\">showed<\/a>. Gasoline prices, meanwhile, remained at their highest level since September 2014, according to EIA data <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eia.gov\/petroleum\/gasdiesel\/\">released<\/a> earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to requesting that Asian nations tap into their petroleum reserves, Biden&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/04\/oil-prices-organization-of-the-petroleum-exporting-countries-russia-white-house\/\">blamed<\/a>&nbsp;Middle Eastern and Russian producers for their unwillingness to boost oil production.
