My full statement: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/mx51kR6ZUh\">https:\/\/t.co\/mx51kR6ZUh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 President Biden (@POTUS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS\/status\/1461796805411287041?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 19, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI urge everyone to express their views peacefully, consistent with the rule of law,\u201d he said. \u201cViolence and destruction of property have no place in our democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Biden\u2019s written statement went much further to sympathize with critics of the verdict than his first reaction to the trial&nbsp;as he arrived back to the White House from a colonoscopy and a physical examination at Walter Reed hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI stand by what the jury has to say,\u201d Biden said shortly. \u201cThe jury system works and we have to abide by it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added he did not watch the case.<\/p>\n<p>White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters on Friday afternoon&nbsp;the White House wanted to see \u201cpeaceful protest\u201d in reaction to the trial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[W]e are supporting any effort toward peaceful protest, that\u2019s certainly what we will continue to encourage, as anyone looks to have their voice heard regardless of the outcome,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>On Monday, Psaki said she would not react specifically to the trial but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/15\/white-house-condemns-vigilantes-as-kyle-rittenhouse-trial-wraps-up\/\">condemned<\/a> \u201cvigilantes\u201d armed with \u201cassault weapons\u201d in American communities.<\/p>\n<p>President Biden faced calls to apologize after his social media account referred to Rittenhouse as a \u201cwhite supremacist\u201d in a campaign video.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"7.1142857142857\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">There\u2019s no other way to put it: the President of the United States refused to disavow white supremacists on the debate stage last night. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Q3VZTW1vUV\">pic.twitter.com\/Q3VZTW1vUV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JoeBiden\/status\/1311268302950260737?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 30, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Rittenhouse\u2019s mother Wendy criticized him publicly on television, accusing the president of defaming her son.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was so angry for a while at him and what he did to my son, he defamed him,\u201d Rittenhouse\u2019s mother <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/changing-america\/respect\/581342-kyle-rittenhouses-mother-accuses-biden-of-defaming-her-son\">said<\/a> in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.<\/p>\n<p>After the verdict was handed down from the jury, Sen.
