Rittenhouse fired his rifle twice at \u201cjump kick man,\u201d but missed.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>One of the two charges of reckless endangerment that Rittenhouse now faces is a result of that altercation \u2014 one of five charges currently being considered by the jury \u2014 even though prosecutors never named the alleged victim.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Fox News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/kyle-rittenhouse-trial-identity-of-mysterious-jump-kick-man-revealed\">reported<\/a> that the man is named Maurice Freeland, and that he has a lengthy criminal record. According to Fox, citing defense attorneys, he told prosecutors he would testify in exchange for immunity, but they refused the deal:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"18.512820512821\">\n<p>The man known as \u201cjump kick man\u201d during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/politics\/executive\/law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trial<\/a> of Kyle&nbsp;Rittenhouse is 39-year-old Maurice Freeland of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/us-regions\/midwest\/wisconsin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wisconsin<\/a>, defense&nbsp;attorneys revealed to Fox News Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Freeland approached the prosecution to testify in exchange for immunity for other charges, including a DUI, but they rejected the offer, according to a source familiar with the discussions.<\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin arrest records show that Freeland has a lengthy criminal history, including charges for battery,&nbsp;disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and other offenses this year.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>They also apparently withheld his name from the defense, preventing Rittenhouse\u2019s attorneys from calling him as a witness. That could prompt the defense to file a new motion for a mistrial, in addition to the two that are already pending with the judge.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors have also faced criticism for charging Joshua Ziminski with arson. Ziminski allegedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kenoshanews.com\/news\/local\/crime-and-courts\/man-facing-charge-for-firing-gun-in-air-before-rittenhouse-shootings-now-charged-with-arson\/article_c507fee0-f1ef-5205-ac8f-b320c41e036d.html\">fired<\/a> the first shots that night, before Rittenhouse fired at his first assailant, but his pending testimony in his arson trial means that he could not be compelled to testify in the Rittenhouse trial because that might violate his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination.<\/p>\n<p><em>Joel B.
