Paul Curtman, WePay said the PAC had been blacklisted for violating its terms of service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore specifically,\u201d said the message, \u201cPer our terms of service, we are unable to process for hate, violence, racial intolerance, terrorism, the financial exploitation of a crime, or items or activities that encourage, promote, facilitate, or instruct others regarding the same.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After an inquiry from the<a href=\"https:\/\/missouriindependent.com\/2021\/11\/17\/donald-trump-jr-event-canceled-after-chase-bank-ends-deal-with-missouri-conservative-group\/\"><em> Missouri Independent<\/em><\/a>, the JPMorgan Chase-owned payment processor said the decision had been a mistake, but would not say any more about how the mistake happened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter further review, we determined that this organization didn\u2019t violate the terms of service, and we are reaching out to the client to discuss reinstating the account,\u201d a JPMorgan Chase representative told the newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be clear, we have never and would never close an account due to a client\u2019s political affiliation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the&nbsp;<em>Missouri Independent,&nbsp;<\/em>Curtman condemned WePay\u2019s interference in the event and said he believed it was driven by political animus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy personal sense of why they did this is kind of along the same lines we have been seeing in our culture in recent years,\u201d Curtman said. \u201cIf someone has a different idea politically, there is an attempt to silence them or shut them down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt threw a wrench right into the middle of everything,\u201d Curtman said. \u201cWe had vendors and small businesses and other people who were relying on this as part of their business.
