Bill Hagerty\u2019s question.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s probably bad for America,\u201d she continued after the Tennessee senator followed up. \u201cIt\u2019s not my expertise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hagerty noted that Omarova was \u201chaving a hard time acknowledging that higher gas prices are bad.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/05\/jennifer-granholm-energy-department-gasoline-prices-opec\/\">(RELATED: \u2018That Is Hilarious\u2019: Energy Secretary Cackles When Asked About Rising Gasoline Prices)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Omarova has <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/28\/joe-biden-nominated-marxist-regulate-banks-saule-omarova-toomey-tester\/\">faced intense backlash<\/a> for previous writings and left-wing positions since Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2021\/09\/23\/president-biden-announces-key-nominations-for-financial-regulation-and-investor-protection\/\">nominated<\/a> her in September and every Republican is expected to vote against confirming her. Democratic Sens. In the last several months, she has argued in favor of bankrupting and starving the fossil fuel industry to promote clean energy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere what I\u2019m thinking about is primarily the coal and oil and gas industry,\u201d Omarova stated during a virtual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WkP0Esyfh54\">seminar<\/a> in March. \u201cA lot of the smaller players in that industry are going to probably go bankrupt in short order, at least we want them to go bankrupt if we want to tackle climate change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, the way we basically get rid of those carbon financiers is we starve them of their sources of capital,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=AiCWDM0hKpY&amp;t=4040s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a> during a different event two months later.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration, meanwhile, has been scrambling to combat increasing gasoline prices which have hit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eia.gov\/petroleum\/gasdiesel\/\">multiyear highs<\/a> in recent weeks.
