Hopefully, we\u2019ll talk a lot before then. Eight months from today, do you think things are better or worse?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, they\u2019re not going better for Biden and the Democrats,\u201d Maher admitted. \u201cAnd I think that\u2019s getting \u2014 eight months is going to be close to the midterm election. I think they\u2019re going to get whopped or thumped in the \u2014 I mean, that usually happens in midterm elections. But, I mean, Joe \u2014 look, I\u2019m glad he\u2019s there. But he has not exactly stuck the landing, on a lot of the issues that he was dealing with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maher spoke of Republicans\u2019 view of Democrats:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u2026 they hate you. Because they really hate you. I mean, look at the election we just had in Virginia. I mean, the Democrats lost some of those rural counties by 80 percent. We don\u2019t do 80 percent, or we never used to, in America. A landslide was a guy got 58 percent of the vote. That\u2019s what made us great. And you saw in other countries, \u201cOh, Castro got 99 percent of the vote,\u201d we would laugh.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Well, I don\u2019t doubt that Republicans were getting 80 percent of the vote, in some of those counties. I think in 45 of them, they got over 70 percent of the vote. That is beyond policy.<\/em>&nbsp;<em>And until we figure that out \u2014 until you figure out why they hate us so much and, obviously, it comes back the other way, when people hate you, you tend to hate them, we\u2019re never going to fix any of the problems in this country.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Maher recalled, \u201cI talked to a guy, in the Midwest once, could have been anywhere. And he was telling me about how he was coming out of a store, and he\u2019s trying to get his car, out of the lot, and the car next to him had a Hillary bumper sticker on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the child \u2014 it was a little 4-year-old or 5-year-old child, who was screaming at the mother, screaming.,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd the mother was apologizing to the child. And this is the car with the Hillary bumper sticker.
