The announcement came shortly after DoD Secretary Lloyd Austin&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SecDef\/status\/1430547790170660867?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a>&nbsp;in August that he would be requiring all active duty and Ready Reserve members of the military to be vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>Deadlines for members of the military, as well as DoD civilians, were set throughout November, but, according to the&nbsp;<em>New York Times<\/em>, military commanders have been&nbsp;<a title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/11\/03\/us\/politics\/air-force-reaches-vaccine-deadline.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">given<\/a>&nbsp;\u201cwide latitude\u201d for how to enforce the mandate given thousands of employees remain unvaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>Mandating vaccines on private sector employees ran into a hurdle on Wednesday after the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was&nbsp;<a title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/17\/osha-vaccine-mandate-court-order\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">forced<\/a>&nbsp;to suspend implementing the federal mandate on private businesses in response to a court order from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Please be advised \u2026&nbsp;we will not vote for a continuing resolution, or any other government funding legislation, while any federal COVID-19 vaccine mandates remain in place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/16\/janet-yellen-warns-u-s-could-hit-debt-limit-december-15\/\">indicated<\/a> Congress must take action to raise the debt ceiling by December 15 to prevent a government shutdown, and, according to the&nbsp;<em>Hill<\/em>, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY)&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/senate\/581879-democrats-think-gop-will-blink-in-newest-debt-brawl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hopes<\/a>&nbsp;to achieve the necessary additional funding through a vote in the Democrat-led House and evenly divided Senate.
