The 10 percentage-point gap represents a swing of nearly 30 points since October 2020, the last time Morning Consult included the question in a poll, when respondents said Biden was in good health by a 19-point margin.<\/p>\n<p>Voters are only slightly more confident in the state of Biden&#8217;s mental health, with 46 percent of poll respondents agreeing that the president is mentally fit and 48 percent disagreeing. That&#8217;s a 21-point swing compared with the results of the October 2020 survey.<\/p>\n<p>This lack of confidence in Biden&#8217;s fitness to serve must be extremely distressing for millions of Americans, given the fact that Vice President Kamala Harris is a heartbeat away from the presidency. She has an approval rating of just 28 percent, and even her former staffers are <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/politics\/kamala-harris-staffer-trauma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">terrified<\/a> at the thought of her becoming president.<\/p>\n<p>Though Biden is significantly more popular than Harris, his approval rating has been in steady decline since his inauguration and has plummeted in recent months. According to the <em>RealClearPolitics<\/em> polling average, Biden&#8217;s approval rating was around 52 percent in late July. It currently sits at an all-time low of 41.5 percent.<\/p>\n<p>While both Democrats have <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/biden-gaffes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">humiliated<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AmericaRising\/status\/1458489403513491460\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">themselves<\/a> and their country on numerous occasions, Biden&#8217;s gaffes have raised serious questions about his mental fitness. Earlier this year, for example, Rep. Mondaire Jones (D., N.Y.) <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/satire\/joe-biden-dementia-scandal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">described<\/a> how Biden &#8220;just sort of stared at me&#8221; and said nothing after the congressman urged him to get more involved in the party&#8217;s push for so-called voting rights.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Mayo Clinic website, &#8220;difficulty communicating or finding words&#8221; is a common symptom of dementia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Roughly half of American voters are concerned about President Joe Biden&#8217;s physical and mental health, according to a recent POLITICO\/Morning Consult poll.
