Jim Banks claims that \u201cradical and insane policies\u201d in the Build Back Better Act \u201c<span class=\"a\">will break our economy<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Banks distributed the memo, obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller, to the Republican Study Committee \u201c<span class=\"a\">to break down the so-<\/span><span class=\"a\">called \u2018green\u2019<\/span><span class=\"a\"> parts of this <\/span><span class=\"a\">bill and analyze how they\u2019ll impact working families,\u201d he wrote. The social spending package, which has a top-line <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/28\/biden-build-back-better-agenda-democrats\/\">cost<\/a> of $1.75 trillion, could add as much as $4.9 trillion to the national debt, according to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crfb.org\/blogs\/build-back-better-cost-would-double-extensions\">estimate<\/a> from the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has not yet provided an official score for the entire bill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Within the Build Back Better package, Banks claims that \u201c<span class=\"a\">half a trillion<\/span><span class=\"a\">&nbsp;in funding <\/span><span class=\"a\">and policies amount to \u2018<\/span><span class=\"a\">Phase One of the Green New Deal<\/span><span class=\"a\">.&#8217;\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The memo cites recently-unearthed <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/09\/joe-biden-nominee-treasury-department-oil-gas-coal-bankrupt-climate-change\/\">comments<\/a> from nominee for Comptroller of the Currency Saule Omarova as evidence for the Biden administration\u2019s desire to eliminate fossil fuel energy sources. She claimed that people should want coal, oil, and gas companies \u201cto go bankrupt if we want to tackle climate change,\u201d during a March lecture at the Jain Family Institute. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/12\/republicans-call-out-saule-omarova-anti-carbon\/\">(RELATED: GOP Senators Call Out Biden Nominee\u2019s Rant About Bankrupting Fossil Fuel Industries)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cDemocrats\u2019 \u2018green\u2019 energy policies are designed to make working class families\u2019 lives <span class=\"a\">uncomfortable,\u201d Banks wrote<\/span><span class=\"a\">. \u201cThat\u2019s on purpose \u2014 <\/span><span class=\"a\">Democrats have long advocated for energy taxes to encourage people to use <\/span><span class=\"a\">less. They want to phase out the energy sources Americans depend on and replace them with more expensive and <\/span><span class=\"a\">less reliable \u2018<\/span><span class=\"a\">green\u2019 energy sources.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The memo notes provisions that ban oil and natural gas drilling on federal lands and offshore oil and natural gas drilling, while providing tax credits for electric vehicles such as cars and motorcycles.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"a\">\u201cThe bill would increase <\/span><span class=\"g\"><span class=\"a\">American dependency on foreign oil at a time the Biden administration is literally<\/span><span class=\"a\">&nbsp;begging OPEC to <span class=\"l6\">drill more oil<\/span><\/span><\/span>,\u201d Banks added.<\/p>\n<p>Some Democrats, including Biden, have <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/17\/joe-biden-federal-trade-commission-gasoline-prices-big-oil\/\">suggested<\/a> that gas price increases are due to price-gouging from energy companies. Massachusetts Sen.
