Bush. The claim originates from a website that says it posts \u201chumor, parody, and satire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush participated in the opening coin flip before the Dallas Cowboys\u2019 Nov. 7 football game against the Denver Broncos at AT&amp;T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram <a href=\"https:\/\/www.star-telegram.com\/sports\/nfl\/dallas-cowboys\/article255623071.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>. He served as the state\u2019s governor prior to his presidency, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/about-the-white-house\/presidents\/george-w-bush\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">White House<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a Nov. 15 Facebook post claims George W. Bush was arrested by the military. This, however, is not true. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/05\/20\/fact-check-george-w-bush-daughter-hijab-islam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Image Claims To Show George W. Bush\u2019s Daughter Wearing A Hijab)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Contrary to the claim, neither the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/News\/Releases\/?Search=Bush+arrested\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Defense Department<\/a> nor the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/news?keys=Bush+arrested&amp;items_per_page=25\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Justice Department<\/a> have issued a press release reporting that the former president has been arrested or charged with an offense. The George W. Bush Presidential Center has not mentioned any such action in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bushcenter.org\/about-the-center\/newsroom\/index.html?q=arrested&amp;startDate=&amp;endDate=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">news statements<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=arrested%20(from%3ATheBushCenter)&amp;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/page\/142236929154222\/search?q=arrested&amp;filters=eyJycF9jaHJvbm9fc29ydDowIjoie1wibmFtZVwiOlwiY2hyb25vc29ydFwiLFwiYXJnc1wiOlwiXCJ9In0%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">posts<\/a>. The George W. Bush Presidential Center has sent several <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheBushCenter\">tweets<\/a> since the Facebook post surfaced.<\/p>\n<p>George W. Bush\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/georgewbush\/posts\/441148090704638\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CWXE8EdsR2P\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instagram<\/a> accounts shared content on Nov. 17, two days after the Facebook post was shared, that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheBushCenter\/posts\/4918188521559015\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">center<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CWWcP6qvdGu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">also posted<\/a> on those platforms earlier in the day. If he had been arrested by the military, national news outlets certainly would have reported on it, yet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=george+w.+bush+arrested&amp;source=lnms&amp;tbm=nws&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjRtMajrZ30AhXpVTABHbojBVAQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&amp;biw=1920&amp;bih=911&amp;dpr=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">none<\/a> have.<\/p>\n<p>The post appears to stem from a Nov. 15 <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/2021\/11\/military-arrests-former-president-george-w-bush\/\">article<\/a> published on the website Real Raw News bearing the headline: \u201cMilitary Arrests Former President George W. Bush.\u201d Real Raw News includes a <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/about-us\/\">disclaimer<\/a> on its website that reads in part, \u201cThis website contains humor, parody, and satire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the Disclaimer on Real Raw News, some social media users shared the headline, seemingly believing&nbsp;the website\u2019s article was factual. This is not the first time misinformation has stemmed from Real Raw News. Check Your Fact previously <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/07\/21\/fact-check-donald-rumsfeld-not-commit-suicide-military-tribunal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">corrected<\/a> the baseless claim stemming from the website that George W.
