Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found the image shared on Facebook was first published in a <a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.com.au\/books?id=U_IDAAAAMBAJ&amp;pg=PA40&amp;lpg=PA40&amp;dq=Ashley+Braistle&amp;source=bl&amp;ots=uPoPVFa0n1&amp;sig=ACfU3U0OM8hM4ou7Vc5CmnEg3xB9IOQ4LA&amp;hl=en&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=2ahUKEwiU0vLEzsjyAhW0zDgGHRA5B9o4ChDoAXoECAIQAw#v=onepage&amp;q&amp;f=false\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1994 Weekly World News<\/a> (WWN) article titled \u201cFour-Legged Lovely Ashley Braistle Has Found The Man Of Her Dreams- Thanks To Weekly World News.\u201d In this article, the four-legged woman pictured is identified as Ashley Braistle.<\/p>\n<p>WWN was a tabloid known for fabricating sensational stories, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/topic\/National-Enquirer#ref1201452\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Encyclopedia Britannica<\/a>. An 1877 image of her shared online by the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.utexas.edu\/ransomcentermagazine\/2010\/07\/05\/remembering-p-t-barnums-pre-circus-career-on-his-birthday\/myrtle-corbin-myrtle-corbin-1868-1927-was-born-with-a-dipygus-twin-having-a-second-set-of-legs-growing-out-between-her-own-legs-that-also-led-to-a-full-functioning-female-reproductive-syste\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Texas<\/a> shows her wearing clothes typical of the time period in which she lived. Her physical appearance does not resemble the woman pictured in the Facebook post, whose four legs are all roughly the same size. In the real image of Corbin, two of her legs appear to be shorter than the other two.<\/p>\n<p>While the Facebook image does not show Corbin, some of the details contained within the post are partially true.
