The Trump administration had agreed to withdraw all U.S. troops from the country by May 1. In response to Biden, the Taliban launched a nationwide campaign to retake federal power, sending the U.S.-backed government fleeing out of Kabul and leaving a power vacuum.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the Taliban takeover, the United States froze Afghan government assets \u2013 as did major financial <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2021\/08\/25\/world-bank-international-monetary-fund-taliban\/\">institutions<\/a> like the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF), citing human rights considers with the terrorist organization and the fact that they did not represent a legitimate Afghan government. Rogue <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/10\/25\/russia-prepares-to-fund-afghanistan-remove-taliban-from-terror-list\/\">regimes<\/a> like China, Russia, and Iran have enthusiastically <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/10\/28\/iran-china-legitimize-taliban-as-interim-government-of-afghanistan\/\">supported<\/a> unfreezing assets and investing in the Taliban regime.<\/p>\n<p>Balkhi posted a video on Twitter reading the open letter \u2013 signed by \u201cacting foreign minister\u201d&nbsp;Amir Khan Muttaqi \u2013 in English, which states that, as former President Ashraf Ghani fled the country, the Taliban replaced the federal government \u201cat the request of the people\u201d and is, as such, a legitimate government. The Afghan people, after attaining personal security following decades of war, have a right to financial security.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cDespite the fact that following the signing of the Doha Agreement in February 2020 we no longer find ourselves in direct conflict with one another nor are we a military opposition, what logic could possibly exist behind the freezing of our assets?\u201d Muttaqi asked in the letter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are of the belief that freezing Afghan assets cannot resolve the problem at hand neither is it the demand of the American people, hence your government must unfreeze our capital,\u201d Muttaqi asserted.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe are concerned that if the current situation prevails, the Afghan government and people will face problems and will become a cause for mass migration in the region and world which will consequently create further humanitarian and economic issues for the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_17931930\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"33\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Taliban-3.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17931930\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Taliban-3.jpeg\" alt=\"A Taliban fighter sits in the cockpit of an Afghan Air Force aircraft at the airport in Kabul on August 31, 2021.(Wakil Kohsar\/AFP via Getty Images)\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>A Taliban fighter sits in the cockpit of a captured Afghan Air Force aircraft at the airport in Kabul. (Wakil Kohsar\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The \u201cforeign minister\u201d cited the Chinese coronavirus pandemic as a reason for the U.S. to help the Taliban.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMoreover, as the cold winter months are fast approaching in Afghanistan, and in a state where our country has been hammered by the corona virus [sic] , drought, war and poverty,\u201d the letter read, \u201cAmerican sanctions have not only played havoc with trade and business but also with humanitarian assistance.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAssessments by the United Nations and other humanitarian organizations conclude that if these conditions continue, the Afghans will face a dire situation this winter,\u201d Muttaqi wrote. \u201cThe suffering of a child from malnutrition, the death of a mother from lack of health services, the deprivation of a common Afghan from food, shelter, medicine and other primary needs has no political or logical justification, and it is detrimental for the prestige of the government and people of the United States of America because this is a pure humanitarian issue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The letter also invited American companies to invest in the Taliban and the government generally to seek diplomatic ties with the Sunni jihadist organization.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan [the Taliban], as a sovereign and responsible government, is interested in establishing positive relations with all world governments including the American administration,\u201d the letter noted. \u201cAfghanistan now has everything available for growth and development, and the United States of America can also invest in the manufacturing, agriculture and mining sectors of Afghanistan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Afghan news outlet Khaama Press <a href=\"https:\/\/www.khaama.com\/talibans-letter-to-congress-unfreeze-our-afghanistan-assets-to-help-prevent-humanitarian-crisis-457457\/\">reported<\/a> that the assets in question total to about $9 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Taliban officials have insisted for months that they do not have enough money to run a federal government and the international community must invest in their success \u2013 notably omitting any explanation for what happened to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/asia-pacific\/profits-poppy-afghanistans-illegal-drug-trade-boon-taliban-2021-08-16\/\">billions<\/a> in opium and heroin profits the group is believed to have made while out of power during the last 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need the reconstruction of Afghanistan, the people of Afghanistan need the budget. The [central bank] shall need the budget,\u201d Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/newseu.cgtn.com\/news\/2021-08-20\/Exclusive-Taliban-claims-it-is-the-choice-of-the-people--12RvXRDqMpO\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">told<\/a>&nbsp;Chinese regime broadcaster CGTN in August.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"7.3285714285714\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Taliban terrorist organization is strutting and bragging that the  Biden administration&nbsp;has agreed to provide aid to Afghanistan. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5X1hHMUPTY\">https:\/\/t.co\/5X1hHMUPTY<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1447771650620104704?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 12, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAmerica is a big country, they need to have a big heart,\u201d Muttaqi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/09\/14\/taliban-cries-poor-urges-u-s-to-show-some-heart-and-send-money\/\">asserted<\/a> in September.<br \/>\u201cThe money belongs to the Afghan nation. Just give us our own money,\u201d Ahmad Wali Haqmal, a spokesman for the Taliban \u201cfinance ministry\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/10\/29\/taliban-wants-afghan-government-cash-just-give-us-our-money\/\">asserted<\/a> more desperately last month.<\/p>\n<p>The Taliban, a jihadist terrorist organization, is unlikely to find much sympathy in the U.S. Congress. In August, Sens.
