If they want to fight for schools they should support teacher pay increases, more mental health resources and ending the school to prison pipeline.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"10\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">TY \u2066<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/loudoun4all?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@loudoun4all<\/a>\u2069 for a factual &amp; thorough debunking of the alt-right FFS petitions.<\/p>\n<p>If they want to fight for schools they should support teacher pay increases, more mental health resources and ending the school to prison pipeline. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/UKj9IfBmHM\">https:\/\/t.co\/UKj9IfBmHM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Juli Briskman (@julibriskman) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/julibriskman\/status\/1458993406798090285?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 12, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the Loudoun 4 All article, attempts to recall school board members who support Critical Race Theory and gender theory <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loudoun4all.com\/news\/statement-on-the-recall-filing-for-lcps-school-board-chair-brenda-sheridan\">are<\/a> \u201cpart of a country-wide effort to use recalls to subvert the results of free and fair elections.\u201d Continuing along those lines, the left-wing group claimed that \u201cWhen recalls don\u2019t work, threats of violence and instilling fear are used instead,\u201d though they did not offer evidence of such violence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRecalls are intended to be used in cases of serious malfeasance,\u201d the group concludes. \u201cInstead, they are being used to circumvent elections, since the January 6th insurrection failed to subvert the Democratic Process.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>FFS Executive Director Ian Prior responded to Briskman\u2019s tweet, telling the supervisor to \u201clawyer up.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"4.4307692307692\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Lawyer up Juli. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ian Prior (@iandprior) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/iandprior\/status\/1459027867245985792?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 12, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As Merriam-Webster Dictionary&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"https:\/\/www.merriam-webster.com\/dictionary\/alt-right\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">defines<\/a>&nbsp;\u201calt-right\u201d as \u201ca right-wing, primarily online political movement or grouping based in the U.S. whose members reject mainstream conservative politics and espouse extremist beliefs and policies typically centered on ideas of white nationalism,\u201d many non-white parents standing up to the school board have responded with outrage over Briskman\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s absurd. It\u2019s an ad hominem,\u201d Joe Mobley, a black father of four, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/loudoun-county-official-brands-concerned-parents-alt-right\">told<\/a> Fox News. (BRENDAN SMIALOWSKI\/AFP via Getty Images).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Elicia Brand, a Jewish mother who has volunteered with FFS \u201cfor months\u201d told Fox News she is \u201ccompletely offended\u201d and that she takes Briskman\u2019s comments as a \u201cpersonal affront.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI support Ian Prior and everything that he is doing for the schools and the parents in every way,\u201d Brand continued. \u201cI know many people in the Fight for Schools organization, and not one of them is alt-right, not one of them is far-right, not one of them is racist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior also commented on Briskman, saying, \u201cMs. Briskman\u2019s false and defamatory statement is an attack on a diverse coalition of thousands of Loudoun County residents that are utilizing a legal process to remove school board members that have violated the law and their own code of conduct.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe best thing Ms. Briskman could do, as an elected official, is publicly retract her statement and cease and desist from regularly attacking her constituents on social media,\u201d he concluded, adding, \u201cBut we aren\u2019t holding our breath.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Virginia\u2019s rules governing the removal of elected officials require that a petition to recall receive enough signatures to equal ten percent of the number of votes cast in the most recent election for that office.
