Now he and his mother are suing the school district.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cM.P. had an exchange with a progressive student, who is described as not being transgendered, on a school bus. During the conversation, M.P. relayed his belief informed by Catholic teaching that there are two genders, male and female. This exchange was followed by a conversation between the two students over a text messaging app,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/nhjournal.com\/exeter-teen-disciplined-for-expressing-catholic-view-on-gender\/?fbclid=IwAR2TXockqUfurTC2kr4xN1b3ofLUCbYAqyFKOtOO-phdtB4Hfn9UA3CpHHs\">NH Journal<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The brouhaha started, according to the lawsuit, after a student at Exeter High School claimed in class to be \u201cnon-binary\u201d and wanted to be addressed as \u201cthey.\u201d On the school bus, M.P was reportedly discussing the difficulty of using third-person pronouns in Spanish when referring to a \u2018non-binary person.\u2019 The lawsuit alleges that a female student overheard the conversation and commented, \u201cThere\u2019s more than two genders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>M.P. allegedly replied, \u2018No there isn\u2019t: there\u2019s only two genders.\u201d After M.P exited the bus, the female student texted him, the lawsuit claims, demanding, \u201cGive me one valid reason why there\u2019s only two genders.\u201d The lawsuit states there was \u201ca contentious exchange of texts on the issue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit says the texts were given to the school administration, which \u201cresulted in M.P.\u2019s suspension for reportedly both failing to respect another student\u2019s gender pronouns and for \u2018inappropriate language\u2019 used in his texts, such as \u2018bozo\u2019 and \u2018stfu\u2019,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10206067\/New-Hampshire-high-schooler-suspended-saying-two-genders-sues-school-district.html\">The Daily Mail<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit states that Exeter High School Assistant Principal Marcy Dovholuk and athletic director and varsity football coach&nbsp;Bill Ball pulled M.P. out of class. The lawsuit asserts, \u201cDovholuk and Ball stated that the texts showed that M.P. was \u2018not respecting pronouns\u2019 and that he needed to \u201crespect how people identify.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBall told him he was going to suspend him from playing football for one week but then reduced the ban to one game after the student\u2019s mother protested to him that he had done nothing wrong,\u201d The Daily Mail added.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit states M.P\u2019s views on gender:<\/p>\n<p><em>The student does not deny that he violated the Gender Nonconforming Students policy. ..
