This, they said,&nbsp;would cut the time patients need to wait to see a doctor while retaining the ability for the system to remain free at the point of delivery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy do we accept waiting lists in this country? We\u2019ve been brainwashed,\u201d Tice said, adding that \u201cmost great countries, whatever healthcare system they\u2019ve got, don\u2019t have waiting lists. Under the party\u2019s plan, they say, if a patient can\u2019t be seen by a GP within three days then they would receive a voucher from the government to attend a private doctor. The same would apply in circumstances in which patients can\u2019t see a consultant in three weeks or receive an operation within nine weeks.<\/p>\n<p>He argued that through adopting the voucher programme, the \u201cengines\u201d of private care efficiency would flood into the system, while still being able to cover everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Though the NHS has become akin to a national religion, the evidence does not shine too kindly on Britain\u2019s socialised healthcare system, which ranks <a href=\"https:\/\/data.oecd.org\/healtheqt\/hospital-beds.htm\">dead last<\/a> among G7 nations in terms of hospital beds per capita. The UK also&nbsp;ranks the <a href=\"https:\/\/data.oecd.org\/healthres\/nurses.htm\">second lowest<\/a> within G7 in the number of nurses, despite spending the <a href=\"https:\/\/data.oecd.org\/healthres\/health-spending.htm\">fourth-most<\/a> per capita on healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>The problems facing the NHS have only been compounded by the Wuhan virus, with \u201cenormous backlogs\u201d of patients during the pandemic resulting in an estimated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/10\/24\/uk-national-health-service-missed-20000-cancer-cases-during-pandemic-analysis\/\">20,000 undiagnosed cancer screenings<\/a>, a report found last month.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The system becoming overwhelmed by the number of patients, particularly during winter months, has been a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2015\/01\/06\/nhs-hits-breaking-point-as-patients-overwhelm-ae-services\/\">longstanding phenomenon<\/a>, however, with hospitals frequently being overrun in the winter season prior to the pandemic.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"6.859756097561\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Report: Cancer Patients Decry Deadly Delays and Cancellations Due to Focus on Covid <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zHMUbNya4G\">https:\/\/t.co\/zHMUbNya4G<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1317791284619317251?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 18, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Mr Tice also attacked the nominally Conservative Party on taxes, which are set to soar to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/09\/05\/boris-to-impose-highest-uk-tax-burden-in-70-years\/\">seventy-year high,<\/a> in large part to pay for the NHS. While Boris Johnson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2019\/11\/24\/boris-calls-on-britons-to-make-uk-corbyn-neutral-by-christmas-pledges-to-get-brexit-done-triple-tax-lock\/\">pledged<\/a> not to raise taxes in the Tory Party 2019 election manifesto, the promise, like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2017\/05\/17\/osborne-boasts-tories-never-intended-keep-immigration-promises\/\">many others<\/a>, has since been abandoned.<\/p>\n<p>The Reform UK leader said that in order to stimulate growth \u2014 which will be critical for the economy coming out of lockdown restrictions \u2014 the government should reduce taxes rather than increase them.<\/p>\n<p>The rebranded Brexit Party has <a href=\"https:\/\/reformparty.uk\/our-economic-plan\/\">called<\/a> for the&nbsp;threshold for paying income tax to be raised from&nbsp;\u00a312,500 to \u00a320,000.
