Sullivan wrote in the report. \u201cThe manner of Ms. Janness\u2019 death is classified as a homicide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text\">Janness also had blunt force injuries, according to the medical examiner. On her chest and torso area, the letters \u201cFAT\u201d were cut into her skin, the report states. Of the more than 50 cuts on Janness, 15 were to her head, according to the autopsy findings.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"story-text\">The bodies of the victim and her dog, whose name was Bowie, were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/AtlantaPoliceDpt\/posts\/4462587717085389\">discovered<\/a> in the park in the early hours after they did not return after a walk.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/AtlantaPoliceDpt\/posts\/4462587717085389\" data-width=\"640\" readability=\"24.363402061856\">\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/graph.facebook.com\/160302503980620\/posts\/4462587717085389\/\" class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\" readability=\"8.4742268041237\">\n<p>The Atlanta Police Department needs your help solving a homicide that occurred on July 28, 2021, at Piedmont Park. The\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/160302503980620\">City of Atlanta Police Department<\/a> on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/graph.facebook.com\/160302503980620\/posts\/4462587717085389\/\">Wednesday, July 28, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"story-text\">\u201cJanness\u2019 girlfriend, Emma Clark, used a cellphone app to track her, Clark\u2019s father previously told <em>The Atlanta Journal-Constitution<\/em>,\u201d the report stated.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"story-text\">Following a short walk from their house, Clark found Bowie and Janness deceased, approximately 100 feet apart, according to Clark\u2019s father.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text\">Atlanta Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have since been working on the case.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text\">Over three months later, no arrests have yet been made.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text\">Video footage from July <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tMgp1fESkHc\">showed<\/a> authorities at the park:<\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Search for killer after woman stabbed in park\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tMgp1fESkHc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text\">Emma Clark\u2019s father, Terrell Clark, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsbtv.com\/news\/local\/atlanta\/autopsy-report-shows-woman-killed-piedmont-park-was-stabbed-more-than-50-times\/DGSI5APZVZB5BBYNPTP6VJHLLI\/\">released<\/a> a statement for the family on Friday evening:<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-xb1qmn-0 iyJUDd body-paragraph\">\u201cWith todays release of Katie\u2019s autopsy report its more important than ever that the search for her killer be a top priority for APD and the FBI,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-xb1qmn-0 iyJUDd body-paragraph\">\u201cThe report is extremely heartbreaking to read and know the exact nature of what Katie endured in her final moments on this Earth. Whoever is responsible is very disturbed and remains a danger to everyone\u2019s safety.
