State law suggests not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>PolitiFact concluded:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote readability=\"12\">\n<p>Whether Rittenhouse violated Wisconsin law by possessing a firearm underage is the subject of ongoing litigation. But the Facebook post claimed that it was \u201cperfectly legal\u201d for the teenager to carry an assault-style rifle in Kenosha.<\/p>\n<p>At best, that\u2019s unproven. At worst, it\u2019s inaccurate. Either way, we rate the post False.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On November 15, 2021, Breitbart News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/2nd-amendment\/2021\/11\/15\/watch-judge-dismisses-weapons-charge-against-kyle-rittenhouse\/\">noted<\/a> that Judge Bruce Schroeder dismissed the firearms charge against Rittenhouse, siding with the Defense\u2019s claim that the law is only applicable if Rittenhouse carried a Short Barrel Rifle (SBR).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_18695154\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" readability=\"38\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Judge-Brice-Schroeder.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18695154\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Judge-Brice-Schroeder.jpg\" alt=\"KENOSHA, WISCONSIN - NOVEMBER 10: Judge Bruce Schroeder, reprimands Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger in his conduct in line of questioning while cross-examining Kyle Rittenhouse during the Kyle Rittenhouse trial at the Kenosha County Courthouse on November 10, 2021 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. (Sean Krajacic-Pool\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The prosecution admitted that Rittenhouse was not carrying an SBR.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the dismissal, PolitiFact is standing by its claim that it is \u201cfalse\u201d to say Rittenhouse\u2019s possession was \u201cperfectly legal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The day after Schroeder dismissed the gun charge PolitiFact added an editor\u2019s note to its piece.
