Chris Christie warned Sunday that the overwhelming drop of Independent voters\u2019 support for Democrats will have consequences in the 2022 midterm elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe next election is always the most important election, right? The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/10\/senate-passes-infrastructure-package-dozen-republicans-join-dems-kyrsten-sinema-rob-portman-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Senate<\/a> passed the legislation in August with a bipartisan 69-30 vote with the support of nineteen Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/09\/old-crow-mitch-mcconnell-donald-trump-infrastructure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mitch McConnell<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/05\/house-sends-infrastructure-bill-bidens-desk-after-11th-hour-agreement-between-liberals-moderates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bill<\/a> currently awaits passage from the White House, and Biden is expected to sign it this week.<\/p>\n<p>Biden has faced backlash for the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/30\/biden-afghanistan-kabul-withdrawal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">withdrawal<\/a> of American troops from Afghanistan in August, the highest level of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/10\/inflation-consumer-price-index-bureau-labor-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">inflation<\/a> in 30 years, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/27\/supply-chain-broadband-brendan-carr-semiconductor-internet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">supply chain crisis<\/a>. The president\u2019s approval ratings have continually decreased in recent months, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/06\/quinnipiac-poll-joe-biden-job-performance-low\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reaching<\/a>&nbsp;as low as 38% in early October.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s most recent approval ratings stand at 41%, while 53% of those surveyed disapprove of the president\u2019s job performance, according to an ABC News\/Washington Post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.langerresearch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/1223a2Politicsandthe2022Midterms.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poll<\/a>. The poll surveyed 1,001 adults by the phone between Nov. 7-10 with a 3.5% margin of error.<\/p>\n<p>The poll also said only 31% of participants believe the president has kept his campaign promises and 35% believe he has accomplished much during his time in office.<\/p>\n<p>An Oct. 20 Grinnell-Selzer <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/20\/trump-biden-independent-voters-poll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poll<\/a> found that former President Donald Trump led Biden among Independent voters with a 45% to 28% margin.
