Ron DeSantis\u2019s (R) anti-vaccine mandate proposal.<\/p>\n<p>The DeSantis-ordered legislative special session, headed by establishment Republican Florida House Speaker Chris Sprowls (R) and&nbsp;President of the Florida Senate Wilton Simpson (R), will likely result in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/29\/florida-lawmaker-gop-controlled-florida-legislature-unlikely-to-ban-vaccine-mandates\/\">bowing<\/a>&nbsp;to woke corporations that support Biden\u2019s vaccine mandate on businesses with 100 or more employees.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"8.518771331058\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I don&#8217;t care what <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChrisSprowls?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ChrisSprowls<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WiltonSimpson?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@WiltonSimpson<\/a> do in their free time, but I do care that they&#8217;ve done nothing to prohibit mask and vax mandates in Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Let them know you want a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/FLSpecialSession?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#FLSpecialSession<\/a> NOW! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/EpNkqhvDkl\">https:\/\/t.co\/EpNkqhvDkl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jennifer Cabrera \u01f6 (@jhaskinscabrera) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jhaskinscabrera\/status\/1439330957396414465?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 18, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The special session will unlikely hold corporations responsible for firing unvaccinated employees. Woke corporations have reportedly communicated to Florida Republicans that&nbsp;\u201cthey didn\u2019t want to be told what they couldn\u2019t do any more than they wanted the federal government to tell them what they had to do to keep their workplaces safe,\u201d the <em>Miami Herald<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/news\/politics-government\/state-politics\/article255764176.html\">reported<\/a> Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to stand for freedom,\u2019\u2019&nbsp;state Sen. Aaron Bean (R) of the Jacksonville area told&nbsp;the&nbsp;paper. \u201cBut there\u2019s also the argument that if I own a small company, and I have underlying health conditions, and I want to make sure all those that interact with me are safe, are vaccinated, who are we to tell that small business owner what they can\u2019t do?\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Though woke corporations would appear to prefer to not navigate state law that bans Biden\u2019s mandate, many have done little to combat Biden\u2019s order.<\/p>\n<p>Such is the case with Nemours Children\u2019s Health, which <a href=\"https:\/\/nemours.mediaroom.com\/Nemours-Childrens-Health-COVID-19-Vaccine-Mandate\">implemented<\/a> a company-wide vaccine requirement as a \u201cterm of employment.\u201d The deadline to comply with the requirement was October 6.<\/p>\n<p>Woke opponents have another trick up their collective sleeves. According to Sen. Jeff Brandes (R) of St. Petersburg, corporations have reportedly lobbied state Republicans&nbsp;for&nbsp;liability protection, and Republicans seem open to the idea.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAssociated Industries of Florida, the hospital association, a lot of other associations and all of your large employers had an over-sized influence in helping clarify where Florida\u2019s position should be on liability protection,\u2019\u2019 Brandes told the <em>Herald<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"5.296875\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Here is my joint statement with Senate President <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WiltonSimpson?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@WiltonSimpson<\/a> regarding special session. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rlahZA19Vh\">https:\/\/t.co\/rlahZA19Vh<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/MfL1usADNB\">pic.twitter.com\/MfL1usADNB<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Chris Sprowls (@ChrisSprowls) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChrisSprowls\/status\/1451251406481109006?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 21, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>As a result, Florida Republicans will not consider any measures during the legislative session to remove \u201cliability protections or creating new causes of actions for employees,\u201d the <em>Herald<\/em> reported. \u201cWith the most contentious issue for businesses removed, legislators left several provisions which the governor will be able to campaign on as a victory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rather&nbsp;than&nbsp;causing companies to accept liability for those who have been harmed by losing their job, the Florida legislature, which has been Republican-controlled for 22 years, will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/04\/ron-desantis-special-session-safety-net-fired-unvaccinated-workers\/\">seek<\/a> to create a safety net that further reduces corporations\u2019 responsibility towards workers they terminate.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>For instance, provision SB 2 of the bill under consideration would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2021B\/2B\/BillText\/Filed\/HTML\">pay<\/a>&nbsp;state unemployment to those who choose to remain unvaccinated, a burden Florida taxpayers would shoulder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019ll be the&nbsp;first time that a voluntary quit is eligible for payment,\u201d Rich Templin, legislative and policy director for the Florida AFL-CIO,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/floridaphoenix.com\/2021\/11\/11\/a-remarkable-precedent-fl-republicans-want-to-pay-workers-who-refuse-to-submit-to-vaccine-mandates\/\">told<\/a> the Florida Phoenix.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s vaccine mandate was&nbsp;to take effect in January but a federal appeals court on Friday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/12\/federal-appeals-court-reaffirms-stay-on-bidens-vaccine-mandate\/\">ruled<\/a> a stay on order. For instance, the legislature has twice <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/09\/02\/gop-controlled-florida-legislature-plans-to-consider-pro-life-measures-similar-to-texas-after-killing-bill-twice\/\">failed<\/a> to enact pro-life measures to protect babies unborn.<\/p>\n<p>The legislature has failed to enact E-Verify for private corporations.
