But, to a certain extent, you also, as a member of society, have the duty to be vaccinated to protect yourself and to protect others,\u201d she asserted in comments <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/angela-merkel-says-unvaccinated-have-duty-to-get-jab\/a-59799276\">reported<\/a> by Germany\u2019s national broadcaster Deutsche Welle.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"7.1129032258065\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">New Zealand Prime Minister Admits She Wants to Create Two Classes of Citizens Based on Vaccination Status <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/pva9LWiCL0\">https:\/\/t.co\/pva9LWiCL0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1452545445750788098?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 25, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On Thursday, Germany recorded the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/11\/11\/germany-reports-record-high-new-coronavirus-cases-considers-new-lockdowns\/\">highest number of cases<\/a> since the pandemic began, with over 50,000 new cases being logged.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The rise in cases has also prompted the state of Saxony to impose&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/world-europe-59234443\">lockdown measures<\/a> on the unvaccinated, including banning them from restaurants, bars, public events, and sports facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Other states in Germany\u2019s federal system, which have comparable regional power to states in the United States of America, are expected to follow suit.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing her push on Saturday, Chancellor Merkel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bild.de\/politik\/inland\/politik-inland\/corona-appell-der-kanzlerin-sie-spueren-dass-ich-mir-sorgen-mache-78232744.bild.html\">said<\/a> on her podcast that the current rate of vaccination is not sufficient \u201cto build up adequate protection for all of us\u201d, calling for a \u201cnational effort\u201d to administer booster shots.<\/p>\n<p>She also argued that a \u201cthreshold\u201d number of cases should be instituted in order to impose further national lockdown measures should hospitals be overrun with coronavirus patients.
