In this era of Woke Nazism, you can never fully relax as you wait for the man-on-man kiss, the anti-science transsexual propaganda, the attack on \u201cwhiteness,\u201d the feminist screed, or whatever else these godless fascists have in mind to ruin our good time.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>And make no mistake, they love ruining our good time. They get off on it. Honestly, if I weren\u2019t overpaid to review movies, I wouldn\u2019t bother anymore.<\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"RED NOTICE | Official Trailer | Netflix\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Pj0wz7zu3Ms?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>About a half-hour into writer-director Rawson Marshall Thurber\u2019s <em>Red Notice<\/em>, I not only began to relax, I thought to myself, <em>Oh, yeah, this is what going to the movies used to feel like. <\/em>Why did I think that? Because all of a sudden, I realized I was having a great time.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p><em>Red Notice<\/em> is a total blast, a woketard-free zone from beginning to end, one full of action, laughs, and even sex appeal. <em>Ohmygawd, is that actual cleavage?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Gal Gadot, from head to toe, from her smoky voice to the way she carries herself, is one of the sexiest and most charismatic actresses to grace the screen in decades (<em>Charlize Theron who?<\/em>), and brother does she turn it up to 11 here.<\/p>\n<p><em>It\u2019s so good to have you back, Mr. Male Gaze. Please take your coat off and stay awhile. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Red Notice<\/em> is, by far, Gadot\u2019s most appealing performance to date.<\/p>\n<p>As \u201cThe Bishop,\u201d the \u201cnumber one art thief in the world,\u201d you can tell Gadot is having a blast. Every scene she embraces with gusto and confidence. She\u2019s funny, cool, able to handle herself, and always a woman.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_18732802\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"34\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/GettyImages-1236333558.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18732802\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/GettyImages-1236333558.jpg\" alt=\"Israeli actress Gal Gadot attends the world premiere of Netflix&#039;s &quot;Red Notice&quot; at LA Live in Los Angeles on November 3, 2021. Robert Downey Jr. in <em>Iron Man <\/em>(2008) or Johnny Depp in that first <em>Pirates<\/em> movie are recent examples of this. You might not win an Oscar, but you win the kind of audience goodwill that can carry your career beyond franchise films.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Just as good is Ryan Reynolds. You know, I\u2019ve never been much of a fan of his wisecracking personality. That just changed. As Nolan Booth, the \u201cnumber two art thief in the world,\u201d Reynolds is laugh-out-loud hilarious, today\u2019s version of Bob Hope, a guy who must walk around with a team of genius joke writers.<\/p>\n<p>Along for the ride is Dwayne Johnson as F.B.I. Agent John Hartley, who does the smartest thing a leading man can\u2026 He gets out of the way, puts his ego aside, and shines in the golden glow of his co-stars. He\u2019s the straight man here and a very good and even generous one.<\/p>\n<p>The plot surrounds the hunt for Cleopatra\u2019s Golden Eggs, three priceless artifacts that offer something beyond money to Booth and The Bishop: the opportunity for world-trotting adventure and to prove you\u2019re the best in the world.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Hartley is tasked with stopping them, ends up getting framed, and is forced to join the hunt.<\/p>\n<p>What you get in <em>Red Notice<\/em> is the irony-free exuberance of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Treasure_(film)\">National Treasure<\/a><\/em> (2004), mixed with the panache of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/True_Lies\">True Lies<\/a><\/em> (1994), sprinkled with the gung-ho spirit of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Mummy_(1999_film)\">The Mummy<\/a><\/em> (1999), simmering on the chemistry, charm, and perfect amount self-referential moments of those wonderful Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Dorothy Lamour <em>Road<\/em> pictures.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, <em>Red Notice <\/em>teases a sequel. Better than that, though, it leaves our characters in a perfect place, in that place where we remember them as we want to remember them: unchanged and forever enjoying adventures together.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and <em>Red Notice<\/em> not only tells its story in under two hours, instead of leaving you exhausted, it leaves you wanting more. It\u2019s like traveling back in time to when Hollywood still knew how to put on a show.<\/p>\n<p>Best of all, you can enjoy it with the whole family.
