Some in the EU have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/eu-considers-sanctions-minsk-airport-over-migrant-crisis-2021-11-11\/\">considering sanctions<\/a> against the airline since late last month.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"6.7358490566038\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">EU Official Demands More Sanctions Against Belarus as Some Warn of Escalation <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/iGSPg2q8y4\">https:\/\/t.co\/iGSPg2q8y4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1458397524864102406?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 10, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>According to InfoMigrants, the airline <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infomigrants.net\/en\/post\/36063\/the-route-from-iraq-to-belarus-how-are-migrants-getting-to-europe\">leases several aircraft<\/a> from European Union-based companies, some of which are based in Ireland.&nbsp;Simon Coveney, Ireland\u2019s Foreign Minister, said that he would support sanctions against future leasing contracts but not against existing contracts currently in force.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Belavia released a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2021\/nov\/10\/ireland-briefs-aircraft-leasing-firms-on-possible-belarus-sanctions\">statement<\/a> to the <em>Guardian<\/em> newspaper claiming that was not involved in the trafficking of migrants to the EU border area, and that it simply did not refuse those with correct documentation the ability to travel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBelavia does not operate, and during the calendar year 2021 has not operated, scheduled or charter services to any of the following countries, which Belavia understands to be those countries which are the subject of allegations regarding migrant trafficking: Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Myanmar, Pakistan and Syria,\u201d the airline claimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on sales analysis, Belavia has blocked reservation and ticketing abilities for certain travel agencies considered at risk [of making] ticket sales to citizens from high-risk countries,\u201d they suggested.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"7.8835978835979\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Belarus Training Afghans and Iraqis with Military Experience to Attack Polish Border, Claims Fmr Ambassador <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/C59maPY6rm\">https:\/\/t.co\/C59maPY6rm<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1458742799604629505?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 11, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Along with Belarusian airlines, the European Union is also allegedly considering sanctions against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/eu-considers-sanctions-minsk-airport-over-migrant-crisis-2021-11-11\/\">Minsk airport<\/a> over the ongoing migrant crisis.
