The migrants were locked inside the trailer with no means of escape in the event of a crash or abandonment by the human smugglers.<\/p>\n<p>Laredo North Station Border Patrol agents assigned to the Interstate 35 immigration checkpoint on November 11 observed a tractor-trailer approaching for inspection in the primary commercial lane, according to information obtained from Laredo Sector Border Patrol officials.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_18732474\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" readability=\"33\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18732474\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Non-citizens-6.jpg\" alt=\"Agents find 14 migrants locked inside a tractor trailer at the Interstate 35 immigration checkpoint. (Photo: U.S. Border Patrol\/Laredo Sector)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>During the initial inspection, a Border Patrol K-9 reacted to an odor it is trained to detect indicating the possible presence of drug or human cargo in the trailer, officials reported. The agents referred the driver to a secondary inspection area.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The agents searched the trailer and found 14 migrants locked inside the trailer. The migrants had no way of escaping from the trailer in the event that human smugglers abandoned them or if a crash occurred.<\/p>\n<p>The agents processed the 14 migrants and identified them as citizens of Mexico and Guatemala, officials stated.&nbsp; They also arrested the driver, a U.S. citizen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also continue to work with other governments, to ensure we deliver a strong message that our borders are not open, and to facilitate the return of their citizens or those with legal status in other countries,\u201d Laredo Sector officials said in a written statement.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"10.949197860963\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Laredo West Station <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/USBP?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#USBP<\/a> agents together with Texas Department of Public Safety troopers arrest a wanted subject attempting to cross the Hwy 83 Traffic Checkpoint northbound.<\/p>\n<p>The warrant was confirmed by DPS, and the driver was extradited to serve his sentence.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/HonorFirst?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#HonorFirst<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Pid4rZqrtO\">pic.twitter.com\/Pid4rZqrtO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Chief Patrol Agent Matthew J.
