(Photo by Chris Unger\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cJon Gruden has filed suit against the National Football League and Commissioner Goodell in the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada,\u201d&nbsp;Adam Hosmer-Henner, Gruden\u2019s attorney,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TomPelissero\/status\/1459254082036801542\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a>. \u201cThe complaint alleges that the defendants selectively leaked Gruden\u2019s private correspondence to the Wall Street Journal and New York Times in order to harm Gruden\u2019s reputation and force him out of his job.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/commissioner-roger-goodell-looks-on-before-the-las-vegas-raiders-play-picture-id1344847313\" alt=\"Commissioner Roger Goodell looks on before the Las Vegas Raiders play against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium on October 4, 2021 in...\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA \u2013 OCTOBER 04: NFL commissioner Roger Goodell looks on before the Las Vegas Raiders play against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium on October 4, 2021 in Inglewood, California. Haffey\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThere is no explanation or justification for why Gruden\u2019s emails were the only ones made public out of the 650,000 emails collected in the NFL\u2019s investigation of the Washington Football Team or for why the emails were held for months before being released in the middle of the Raiders\u2019 season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For their part, the NFL denies Gruden\u2019s allegations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe allegations are entirely meritless and the NFL will vigorously defend against these claims,\u201d the NFL said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Gruden sent the emails while he was serving as a <em>Monday Night Football<\/em> analyst for ESPN. The emails were collected and analyzed along with 650,000 other emails as part of the investigation into the Washington Football Team\u2019s workplace culture. The NFL has declined to release all of the emails.<\/p>\n<p>In one of the emails, Gruden said that NFL Players Association President DeMaurice Smith, who is black, had lips the size of \u201cmichellin tires.\u201d In another email exchange, Gruden commented on a meme showing a female referee by saying, \u201cnice job roger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gruden resigned soon after the release of the emails, saying that he did not want to become a \u201cdistraction\u201d for the Raiders.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jon Gruden is done coaching in the NFL, but he is not done with the NFL.
