On Thursday, more National Guardsmen could be seen patrolling the banks of the Rio Grande alongside Department of Public Safety State Troopers.<\/p>\n<p>Gov. Greg Abbott recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/border\/2021\/11\/02\/exclusive-photos-texas-installs-border-barrier-made-of-shipping-containers\/\">surged<\/a> guardsmen to the area and a makeshift border wall made from recycled shipping containers was installed. Humvees were placed in the gaps as more containers are delivered.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Soldiers have now installed razor wire along the river\u2019s edge to further prevent migrants from gaining access to downtown Eagle Pass, a popular crossing point. Portable generator-powered lighting has also been added to illuminate nighttime operations.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Breitbart Texas observed the soldiers as they apprehended a group of adult male migrants a short distance from the blockade. The five migrants had just crossed and were ultimately turned over to the Border Patrol.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_3272.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18726162\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_3272.jpg\" alt width=\"1920\" height=\"1280\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the razor wire installation, a spokesperson for the Department of Public Safety, Lieutenant Chris Olivarez, says more enhancements are on the way. Olivarez told Breitbart Texas his department has been monitoring the progress of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/border\/2021\/10\/28\/exclusive-video-migrant-caravan-marches-to-u-s-on-mexican-highway\/\">large migrant caravan<\/a> making its way through Mexico. Olivarez says it appears, at least for now, the caravan may head to Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the augmentation of physical resources and personnel, Texas will also provide funding to area law enforcement agencies. More than $36.4 million in funding will be spread throughout the region over the next two years. Maverick County will receive more than $1.5 million to deter and interdict criminal activities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_3280.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18726170\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_3280.jpg\" alt width=\"1920\" height=\"1280\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The area <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/border\/2021\/10\/05\/watch-venezuelans-claim-persecution-by-chilean-police-after-crossing-texas-border\/\">surrounding<\/a> the ports of entry in Eagle Pass are known as high traffic points for Border Patrol due to the proximity to residences.
