The clip has been taken out of context and actually shows him dismissing rumors that government officials plotted to confiscate all guns.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Oct. 7 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/100008154047451\/videos\/207563214806675\/\">Facebook post<\/a> features a since-deleted TikTok video. In the video, Biden can be seen speaking at a podium with the American, Vice Presidential and Justice Department flags behind him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFind out whether you own a gun, because we\u2019re about to really take away all your rights and you\u2019re not gonna be able to defend yourself and we\u2019re gonna swoop down with Special Forces folks and gather up every gun in America,\u201d Biden says in the video.<\/p>\n<p>The video clip, however, has been taken out of context. The clip comes from a speech Biden gave as vice president on April 9, 2013, which can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?311990-1\/gun-violence-prevention#\">C-SPAN<\/a>. Before the clipped section of the speech, Biden insisted that there would not be a central national database containing records of all gun sales under a proposed universal background check system&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/obamawhitehouse.archives.gov\/blog\/2013\/04\/03\/president-obama-requiring-background-checks-anyone-who-wants-buy-gun-common-sense\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">touted<\/a>&nbsp;by then-President Barack Obama.<\/p>\n<p>The video clip on Facebook edited out the beginning of Biden\u2019s statement, changing its meaning. Biden really said there would be \u201cno way that Uncle Sam could find out whether you own a gun,\u201d calling the idea that the government would confiscate all firearms a \u201cbizarre\u201d one \u201cbeing sold out there.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/11\/04\/fact-check-video-shows-metlife-f-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Video Show A Crowd At MetLife Stadium Chanting \u2018F*** Joe Biden\u2019?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact found no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=Biden+universal+gun+confiscation&amp;source=lnms&amp;tbm=nws&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=2ahUKEwiA1sbWlZP0AhV7mHIEHSfwDvMQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&amp;biw=1920&amp;bih=911&amp;dpr=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">news reports<\/a> online of Biden ever suggesting that all guns be taken from Americans. None of his <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?f=top&amp;q=%22every%20gun%22%20(from%3AJoeBiden%20OR%20from%3APOTUS)&amp;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/page\/7860876103\/search\/?q=every%20gun\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">posts<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/speeches-remarks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">presidential speeches<\/a> or his White House\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">press releases<\/a> include such a proposal.<\/p>\n<p>Biden has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2021\/04\/07\/fact-sheet-biden-harris-administration-announces-initial-actions-to-address-the-gun-violence-public-health-epidemic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">repeatedly<\/a> advocated for a ban on assault weapons during his presidency, and the administration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2021\/06\/23\/fact-sheet-biden-harris-administration-announces-comprehensive-strategy-to-prevent-and-respond-to-gun-crime-and-ensure-public-safety\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">unveiled<\/a> a gun crime prevention and response strategy in June.
