Harris has&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/10\/meghan-mccain-questions-kamala-harriss-attempt-french-accent-paris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">spent much of the week in France<\/a>&nbsp;on a trip widely seen as an attempt from the Biden administration to smooth over relations with French President Emmanuel Macron. Relations with France turned cold earlier this year when Australia cut off a submarine manufacturing deal with France in favor of one with the U.S. and U.K.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan you tell us a little bit about how you would prevent the new spending in your Build Back Better agenda from exacerbating the problem, and also what else are you going to do to fix this problem with inflation?\u201d a reporter asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s start with this: Prices have gone up, and families and individuals are dealing with the realities that bread costs more, that gas costs more. We have to understand what that means. That\u2019s about the cost of living going up,\u201d Harris responded. \u201cThat is, on a daily level, something that is a heavy wait to carry, So it is something we take very seriously. Harris also argued that the Biden agenda will not contribute to further inflation because it is paid for.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuild Back Better is not going to cost anything. We\u2019re paying for it,\u201d Harris said.<\/p>\n<p>Biden and numerous other White House officials have <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/01\/joe-biden-spending-plan-infrastructure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">repeatedly claimed<\/a>&nbsp;that his spending plan \u201ccosts zero dollars\u201d thanks to the pay-fors included in the bill. Watchdog organizations have disagreed, however. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget found that Biden\u2019s agenda&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crfb.org\/blogs\/how-much-could-build-back-better-add-debt-update\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">will require the U.S. to borrow roughly $2.4 trillion<\/a>, while the tax hikes included in the bill would only cover for $1.1 trillion.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/24\/joe-biden-defend-administration-record-amid-crises\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">(RELATED:&nbsp;<\/span>Biden Defends His Administration\u2019s Record Amid Low Approval Numbers, Multiple Crises)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>White House principal deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dodged calls from moderate Democrats in&nbsp; Congress for an official cost analysis of President Joe Biden\u2019s spending plans on Nov. 4.
