It\u2019s called being an empathetic and moral human being,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nhannahjones\/status\/1456988518891229187?s=20\">wrote<\/a>, adding, \u201cShame helps us do better. When I visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum about the impact of the US\u2019s atomic bomb, as an American, I felt shame.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If only she could feel shame over her own flaws and serial lies.<\/p>\n<p>Hold on, though; things are about to get much worse.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Responding to her tweet, someone <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JHabeck\/status\/1457058845725970437?s=20\">wrote,<\/a> \u201cNo suprise she still poorly understands history. A land invasion of japan would have cost millions of lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And here was Hannah-Jones\u2019 total lie of a response (which has now been deleted):<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2021\/11\/dumbass.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-18716562\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/dumbass-1024x987-1.jpg\" alt width=\"990\" height=\"954\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re the only one who poorly understands history,\u201d she tweeted. \u201cThey dropped the bomb when they knew surrender was coming because they\u2019d spent all this money developing it and to prove it was worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then she closed with this self-own: \u201cPropaganda is not history, my friend.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The dishonesty, ignorance, and toxic mix of both that comes from the Woke Nazis never ceases to amaze and disgust. What\u2019s more, even after deleting the tweet, she\u2019s not admitting she was wrong or correcting the record.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, apparently we are at a time in my career where a tweet response with 100 likes is worthy of all kinds of explication and condemnations five days after I wrote it, even after I\u2019ve deleted it,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nhannahjones\/status\/1458964967768662020?s=20\">whined.<\/a> \u201cBut sure, ok.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>What a class act our \u201cbetters\u201d are.<\/p>\n<p>So here are the facts\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Japan had ZERO intention of surrendering. In fact, Japan was so determined not to surrender; Japan did not even surrender after the first bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Three days later, we had to drop a second one on Nagasaki. (Photo by Keystone\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Just four months before those August 6 and 9, 1945, atomic bomb drops, there were more than 26,000 American casualties during the grueling five-week battle for Iwo Jima, including more than 7,000 killed. The Japanese suffered some 22.000 casualties, including more than 21,000 killed.<\/p>\n<p>Three months before Hiroshima, in the Battle for Okinawa, which lasted nearly three months, it is estimated that 12,500 Americans died along with 77,000 Japanese soldiers and anywhere from 40,000 to 150,000 civilians.<\/p>\n<p>Now imagine the maniacal, bitter, bloody, grueling house-to-house fighting if &nbsp;America had been forced to end the war Japan started by invading the Japanese homeland\u2014something Japan was aggressively preparing for, including the use of civilians. If the Imperial Japanese were willing to fight almost to the last man on Iwo Jima and Okinawa, it is nowhere near unrealistic to multiply the casualty number by 100 in a fight for the Japanese homeland.<\/p>\n<p>Estimates of the casualties in Hiroshima and Nagasaki range from 100,000 to 250,000.<\/p>\n<p>The alternative was far, far worse\u2026<\/p>\n<p>A battle for Japan that was expected to last more than a year, well into 1947, and the military had <a href=\"https:\/\/historynewsnetwork.org\/article\/1801\">hundreds of thousands<\/a>, nearly a half-million, Purple Hearts manufactured in anticipation of the human wreckage.<\/p>\n<p>In the planning of what was to be called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.navy.mil\/about-us\/leadership\/director\/directors-corner\/h-grams\/h-gram-057\/h-057-1.html\">Operation Downfall<\/a>, the Army figured it would need the resources to care for and replace more than 40,000 American casualties <em>per month<\/em> in a battle that was expected to last until there were nearly 900,000 casualties, including more than a quarter-million dead or missing.
