We have a few flights which are not enough because the prices are so high,\u201d Mohammad Rasool, the head of an unnamed travel agency, told the Afghan news site.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want the Islamic Emirate [the Taliban] to return the flight availability to its normal state because we only have Kam Air and it is not enough. Like Iran and Pakistan we do not have many planes,\u201d a person identified only as Mirwais told Tolo News on November 11.<\/p>\n<p>Kam Air is a privately-owned Afghan airline. It resumed regular flights between Kabul and Islamabad, Pakistan, this week. The airline <a href=\"https:\/\/pajhwok.com\/2021\/10\/19\/kam-air-resumes-flights-to-abu-dhabi-on-wednesday\/\">restarted<\/a> service between Kabul and Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), on October 20. ( HOSHANG HASHIMI\/AFP via Getty)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The state-owned airline&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1657387\/afghanistans-ariana-airlines-begins-flights-from-kabul-to-islamabad\">announced<\/a> on November 11 it would soon operate bi-weekly flights between Kabul and Islamabad, Pakistan, \u201con Thursdays and Mondays, charging $400 from Kabul and $100 from Islamabad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Taliban <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/08\/15\/local-media-afghan-government-handing-country-to-taliban\/\">seized<\/a> power in Afghanistan on August 15 by deposing Kabul\u2019s U.S.-backed government. The event resulted in chaos at Kabul\u2019s only international airport as thousands of people <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2021\/08\/15\/bidens-saigon-videos-reveal-utter-chaos-kabul-airport-taliban-conquers-afghanistan\/\">mobbed<\/a> the facility in an effort to evacuate the city. A suicide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2021\/08\/26\/live-updates-suicide-bombing-outside-kabul-airport\/\">bombing<\/a> at the airport claimed by the regional terror group ISIS-K, or the \u201cIslamic State of Iraq and Syria \u2014 Khorasan Province,\u201d on August 26 caused damage to the site and killed at least 183 people, including 13 members of the U.S. military. Since the incident, the Taliban has&nbsp;canceled most flights into and out of Kabul.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Taliban is a Sunni Islamist nationalist and pro-Pashtun movement founded in the early 1990s that ruled most of Afghanistan from 1996 until October 2001,\u201d according to the official <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dni.gov\/nctc\/groups\/afghan_taliban.html\">website<\/a> of the U.S. Director of National Intelligence (D.N.I.)<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Taliban \u201cregularly carry out deadly suicide bombings, kill civilians with impunity and, in many respects, behave like brutish terrorist groups [within Afghanistan],\u201d Voice of America <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voanews.com\/a\/afghan-taliban-us-list-foreign-terror-groups\/3732453.html\">observed<\/a> in February 2017.
