I wanted to know if he made it or not,\u201d Edge told KSDK.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Kjorlien lost his leg as a result of the RPG blast and now resides in Minnesota, working for a prosthetics manufacturer called Great Steps, KSDK reports.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Edge began searching for Kjorlien on the internet soon after he acquired his first smartphone. Subsequent searches produced a phone number and he made the call.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI said, \u2018Dale I got to be really honest, I don\u2019t know who you are.&#8217;\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><span>Kjorlien told KSDK. \u201cHe said, \u2018It\u2019s been 53 years so I can understand that.&#8217;\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The two only interacted in passing during their time in Vietnam and when Edge came to Kjorlien\u2019s aid on the battlefield, Kjorlien \u201cwas out of it\u201d, according to the <em>Journal-Courier<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>\u201cI didn\u2019t know who loaded me; I was out of it,\u201d Kjorlien told the <em>Jacksonville Journal-Courier<\/em>. \u201cI wasn\u2019t feeling any pain, but I knew I was going to lose my leg.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Kjorlien made the more than 560-mile drive from Minnesota to Edge\u2019s home in Ashland, Illinois, in August, KSDK reports. Upon the reunion, the two shared a<\/span><span> heartfelt hug, and they spent the weekend together, recalling their time serving.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The <em>Jacksonville Journal-Courier<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Q1j7QxIlmvU&amp;feature=emb_title\">captured<\/a> the moment the two men reconnected.
