Will Smith reveals that during the height of his fame, nobody in his family was truly happy.

Actor and rapper Will Smith revealed that his family was not “happy” despite his career success and his children’s rise in the entertainment industry. This realization made him understand that “success and money” do not guarantee happiness.
During an appearance on Kevin Hart’s Peacock TV show “Hart to Heart,” the 54-year-old star reflected on 2010 as his “greatest year as an artist, as a parent.” It was the same year when his son Jaden Smith starred in the “Karate Kid” remake and his daughter Willow Smith’s song “Whip My Hair” became a chart-topper.
“‘Karate Kid’ came out in June, ‘Whip My Hair’ came out in October,” Smith shared. “I’m building this dream of a family I’ve had in my mind. ‘I’m going to do it better than my father did it.’ We’ve talked about it, my father was abusive.”
Smith had set out to create a loving and supportive family, different from his own upbringing. He believed that he had achieved everything he had ever dreamed of from 2010 to 2012.
However, despite all the fame and success, Smith admitted that “Nobody in my family was happy.”
According to Page Six, Smith told Hart, “No one wanted to be in a platoon. Willow was the first one to begin the mutiny, and it was my first realization that success and money don’t mean happiness.”
Smith had always believed that success would lead to happiness, but this experience challenged that belief. It was his first introduction to the idea that material circumstances do not equate to happiness.
“You can have so much stuff that it makes you miserable,” Smith reflected. “That was my first pull-back, and I was like, ‘OK, what am I missing?’ I was driving the people around me in a way that I was leaving scorched earth around me.”
The actor is married to actress Jada Pinkett Smith, and they have two children together: Willow and Jaden. Smith also has a son named Trey from his previous marriage to Sheree Zampino.
