Biden bears sole responsibility for the Southern border disaster
President Biden’s Immigration Policies: A Disaster at the Border
Since taking office, President Joe Biden has implemented what the Brookings Institution describes as the most progressive immigration policies of any president. On his very first day, Biden halted deportations, suspended the “Remain in Mexico” policy, and stopped construction of the border wall. He also reversed Trump’s immigration policies and ended the Title 42 policy used to turn migrants away during the pandemic. Instead, the Biden administration reinstated the “catch and release” policy, allowing the majority of illegal immigrants to be released into the United States.
As a result, the number of illegal aliens crossing the border has skyrocketed. In 2021 alone, over 1.6 million encounters with illegals were recorded, surpassing the previous record set in 2000. The following year, the number increased to 2.4 million, and in 2023, it reached over 3.2 million nationwide.
Despite the catastrophic consequences of his policies, President Biden refuses to take responsibility. He initially blamed Trump for the border crisis, claiming a lack of information sharing during the transition. Later, he shifted the blame to Trump and MAGA Republicans, accusing them of gutting the U.S. Immigration System.
Biden’s Border Crisis Blame Game
As Biden’s administration continued to stumble, his 2024 re-election plan became clear: blame Trump for the border crisis. By February 2024, Biden vowed to remind the American people every day that Trump and his MAGA friends are responsible for the lack of border security.
However, even SkyNews in Australia isn’t buying it. They question Biden’s attempt to shift blame in this video:
When the United States Senate passed a combined Ukraine aid package and so-called ”border security” bill, Biden claimed he needed the authority the bill would provide to shut down the border when overwhelmed. However, the bill’s “border security” provisions were controversial, granting exclusive jurisdiction to the uber-liberal DC District Courts and providing extensive new procedures for handling asylum seekers.
“It would give me, as President, a new emergency authority to shut down the border when it becomes overwhelmed. And if given that authority, I would use it the day I sign the bill into law.”
Biden falsely touted this bill as the ”toughest reforms to secure the border ever,” but in reality, it was an absolute mess. The Heritage Foundation’s analysis reveals the Senate border bill was a border security disaster, not a solution.
The humanitarian, national security, and border crisis at the southern border are entirely the fault of President Biden and his inept administration. They blatantly ignore federal immigration law and fail to enforce it. The failure of their leadership led to the impeachment of DHS Secretary Mayorkas. The Senate “border security bill” would have allowed millions of illegals to cross the border without any action from the federal government.
President Biden’s attempts to deflect blame onto President Trump and Republicans are false and vile. The border crisis is Biden’s responsibility and his alone.

How has the halt in deportations contributed to the border crisis under President Biden’s immigration policies?
Y blaming Trump and his immigration policies, Biden aims to deflect criticism and place responsibility on his predecessor. This strategy, however, fails to acknowledge the disastrous impact of his own policies on the border situation.
One of the key policies that has contributed to the border crisis is the halt in deportations. By stopping deportations, Biden effectively created a loophole for illegal immigrants to enter and stay in the United States without repercussions. This, coupled with the suspension of the “Remain in Mexico” policy, has incentivized illegal border crossings and overwhelmed border patrol agents.
Furthermore, the decision to halt construction of the border wall has allowed for easier access into the country. The border wall was not merely a symbol, but a crucial deterrent against illegal immigration. Its absence has made it easier for migrants to cross the border undetected, increasing the burden on border patrol agents and exacerbating the crisis.
The reinstatement of the ”catch and release” policy has also played a significant role in the surge of illegal crossings. Under this policy, migrants are released into the United States with a notice to appear in court at a later date. This practice not only undermines the rule of law but also creates a sense of impunity for those seeking to enter the country unlawfully.
As a result of these misguided policies, the border patrol and immigration facilities have been overwhelmed, leading to dire conditions for both migrants and the surrounding communities. The lack of resources and capacity to process and accommodate the increasing number of migrants has placed immense strain on the infrastructure and personnel at the border.
The consequences of Biden’s immigration policies extend beyond the border crisis. The influx of illegal immigrants has strained local communities, depleted public resources, and contributed to an increase in crime rates. Additionally, the lack of control and enforcement at the border poses a threat to national security, as it opens the door for potential criminal elements and drugs to enter the country.
It is clear that President Biden’s immigration policies have been a disaster at the border. The surge in illegal crossings, overwhelming of facilities, and strain on resources are undeniable consequences of his approach. It is crucial for the Biden administration to acknowledge its failures, take responsibility, and implement effective measures to secure the border and address the ongoing crisis. Failure to do so will only perpetuate the chaos and harm caused by these misguided policies.
