White House rejects Hunter Biden pardon.

The White House Brushes Off Suggestions of a Pardon for Hunter Biden

The White House dismissed the idea of President‌ Joe Biden pardoning his son, Hunter, after a⁣ judge put‍ a plea deal⁤ on‌ hold. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre firmly stated, “No,” when asked about the possibility of a pardon. She swiftly moved on ⁤to another question.

Hunter Biden’s Legal Troubles

Hunter Biden, ⁢53, had reached an agreement with the Department of⁣ Justice (DOJ) to plead guilty to misdemeanor tax offenses and enter a pretrial diversion agreement for a felony firearm offense. This agreement could potentially spare him from serving time in prison.

However, during a hearing,‍ Delaware U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika postponed a decision ⁤on the ‍plea deal due to concerns about its terms.

IRS agents who have come forward as whistleblowers claim that the criminal ‌case against Hunter Biden⁤ has⁣ been deliberately delayed, preventing more serious charges from⁤ being brought against him.

Republicans have criticized the plea deal, arguing that it ‌demonstrates leniency towards the president’s son. They are particularly concerned about the⁢ flow of millions of dollars from⁤ foreign nationals to the⁤ Biden family under suspicious circumstances.

Former President Donald Trump, who is facing‌ his own criminal charges, criticized the DOJ for giving Hunter Biden a “mere⁢ traffic ticket.” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) described ⁣the plea deal as‍ a “two-tiered ⁤system ‌of justice.”

Hunter Biden’s attorney, Christopher Clark, stated that his client takes responsibility for his mistakes during ‍a period of ⁢turmoil ‌and addiction. He ⁤expressed Hunter’s commitment to recovery and moving ⁣forward.

Regarding the plea deal, ⁢Jean-Pierre emphasized that the president and first lady Jill Biden love their son and support him in rebuilding his life. She emphasized that Hunter Biden is a private citizen and that the criminal case is‌ a personal matter ⁢for him. Further questions were directed to ⁢the DOJ and Hunter Biden’s legal team.
