White House evades queries on Biden’s debunked claims.
NSC Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby Dodges Questions on President Biden’s False Claims
During a press conference on Wednesday, Washington Times reporter Jeff Murdoch confronted NSC Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby about President Joe Biden’s recent false claims, which Murdoch pointed out were “easily debunked.”
Murdoch listed some of the president’s inaccurate statements, including falsely claiming to have been at Ground Zero the day after the September 11th attacks, claiming to have witnessed the collapse of the Pittsburgh bridge, and stating that his grandfather died in the hospital days before his birth.
Questioning the President’s Credibility
Murdoch then asked Kirby, “What is going on with the president? Is he just believing things that didn’t happen, or is he just randomly making stuff up?”
However, instead of addressing the question directly, Kirby deflected and responded, “The president was deeply touched and honored to be able to spend 9/11 with the military members there in Alaska and some families.”
He continued, “He spoke about a visit to Ground Zero, which he did participate in about a week or so after the event, and what that looked and smelled and felt like. It had a visceral impact on him, as it did so many other Americans on that terrible day.”
Downplaying the Issue
Kirby then shifted the focus to the president’s commitment to preventing future attacks, mentioning improvements in counterterrorism capabilities and efforts to hold terrorist networks accountable. However, he conveniently omitted the fact that the withdrawal from Afghanistan significantly weakened America’s ability to respond to such threats.

Murdoch highlighted the pattern of the president making easily disproven claims and asked, “Why does he keep doing that?”
Once again, Kirby evaded the question and simply stated, “The president was grateful to spend that time with those family members and those troops.”
