Texas Police Chief attributes car crashing into Denny’s to wet roads and speed.
Driver Crashes SUV into Denny’s Restaurant, Injuring Dozens
A Texas police chief revealed that wet roads and speed were contributing factors in a shocking incident on Labor Day. An SUV careened into a Denny’s restaurant just outside Houston, causing injuries to nearly two dozen people inside.
Rosenberg Police Chief Jonathan White stated that no charges have been filed against the driver yet, as the crash is still under investigation. While twenty individuals were taken to hospitals, fortunately, none of the injuries were life-threatening.
“Thankfully, most of the victims have been released, and we are grateful that there were no fatalities,” Mr. White reassured.
A video captured the aftermath, showing a red vehicle completely inside the restaurant, with the surrounding wall and windows demolished. The injured individuals ranged from 12 to 60 years old.
The Denny’s restaurant is located near a busy highway that experienced rainfall on Monday morning, coinciding with the time of the crash. Chief White emphasized that traffic investigators are taking all factors into account, including the vehicle’s speed and the freshly wet road conditions.
The driver, who remains unidentified, fortunately escaped the crash unharmed.
