WATCH LIVE: House Foreign Affairs subcommittee holds hearing on UN bigotry toward Israel

A House Foreign Affairs subcommittee is holding a hearing on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East’s bias against Israel amid its monthlong war with Hamas.

The hearing comes after a report was published earlier this year by an Israeli nonprofit group that found the UNRWA failed to remove teachers who posted hateful content about Israel and Jews.

The hearing also comes after the House passed the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, which includes heightened scrutiny of the U.N. agency and denies any funding to move the United States Embassy in Israel out of Jerusalem.

The Biden administration has stood by Israel, which is a strong U.S. ally, but said a short “pause” in the attacks is necessary to get aid into Gaza and civilians out of the region.

The hearing is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
