House Democrats plan to announce a bill on Friday morning that would cut the Trump administration‘s funding for military operations targeting Venezuela.
The bill is designed to prevent the Trump administration from circumventing Congress when authorizing military force, per Punchbowl News. The United States military’s lethal strikes on boats allegedly carrying drugs have been a concern for lawmakers since the operations started in early September.

Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) intends to announce the legislation during a 9 a.m. press conference at the House Triangle on Capitol Hill, where he will be joined by Reps. Jimmy Panetta (D-CA), Eugene Vindman (D-VA), and Jake Auchincloss (D-MA).
The congressmen attending the press conference will also address President Donald Trump’s viral comments in which he claimed six Democratic veterans in Congress were engaging in “seditious behavior” and suggested they needed to be met with punishment by death. In a brief video, the six lawmakers told U.S. service members to disobey orders that they allege are unlawful.
