Biden warmly greets China’s leader, Xi Jinping.
President Biden Welcomes Chinese President Xi Jinping with Warm Handshake
In a highly anticipated meeting, President Joe Biden warmly greeted Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is widely regarded as the greatest threat to the United States. The two leaders exchanged a friendly, two-handed handshake in California.
The White House released a video of the encounter, which some critics may view as an example of government inefficiency. The video showed a slide announcing the “greet” for over 46 minutes, followed by just over one minute of footage of Xi arriving and walking with Biden into a building.
During this time, a reporter asked President Biden about his message to China, but he ignored the question and continued walking with Xi.
Fortunately, another video captured a better view of the actual meeting between the two world leaders.

Another video, which started a few minutes later, showed the two leaders greeting each other across a wide table.
In his opening remarks, President Biden expressed his pleasure at hosting President Xi in the United States and mentioned several critical issues for discussion, including climate change, counter-narcotics, and artificial intelligence.
President Xi also had prepared remarks, focusing mainly on economic issues such as post-pandemic recovery, a sluggish economy, and rising protectionism. He emphasized that the China-U.S. relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the world.
A recent Pew Research poll revealed that 50 percent of Americans consider China the greatest threat to the U.S., while only 17 percent named Russia and 2 percent mentioned North Korea.
A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:
What if you woke up one morning and half of the people you count on had just vanished overnight?
That happened to me recently. I got up, came to work here at The Western Journal, and when I got to my office, literally half of our readers had vanished. They were just gone. We had been nuked by Facebook, and it had happened almost instantly.
But it was even worse. Facebook hit us at the same time 90 percent of advertisers had essentially boycotted us. “Brutal” is a word I’ve used a lot lately.
The fight for the truth is brutal. The fight for America’s soul is brutal. What the government is doing to Jan. 6 detainees is brutal. What surgeons are doing to confused children is brutal.
It’s a fight we must win. But we can’t win without you.
A membership to The Western Journal will go much farther than you think. It costs less than a cup of Starbucks coffee, and for that small price you get access to ALL of our content — news, commentary, and premium articles — you’ll experience a radically reduced number of ads, and most importantly you will be vitally supporting the fight against leftism.
Can I count on you to join today? We need your help. Benjamin Franklin summed up the situation we’re all facing when he said, “We must all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”
We plan to hang in and fight. Please help us. Please become a member today.
Sincerely,

What were some of the critical issues discussed between President Biden and President Xi during their recent meeting in California?
President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping recently met in California, marking a significant event in international diplomacy. Despite the tensions and concerns surrounding China’s influence, Biden warmly welcomed Xi with a friendly, two-handed handshake, emphasizing the importance of open dialogue and engagement between the two nations.
The encounter between the two leaders was captured in a video released by the White House, although some critics may argue that the long slide announcing the greeting demonstrated government inefficiency. The video clip featured over 46 minutes of the slide before a minute of footage showed Xi arriving and walking with Biden into a building. During this time, a reporter attempted to ask Biden about his message to China, but the president chose to focus on the meeting and continued walking with Xi.
Fortunately, another video surfaced, providing a clearer view of the actual meeting between the two world leaders. The footage showed the two leaders greeting each other across a wide table, reflecting the formality and respect expected in such encounters.
In his opening remarks, President Biden expressed his pleasure at hosting President Xi in the United States and highlighted several critical issues for discussion, including climate change, counter-narcotics, and artificial intelligence. This demonstrates the breadth of topics that both leaders recognize as essential for collaboration and understanding between the two nations.
President Xi, in turn, delivered his prepared remarks, focusing on economic issues such as post-pandemic recovery, a sluggish economy, and rising protectionism. He emphasized the significance of the China-U.S. relationship, stating that it is the most important bilateral relationship in the world. This sentiment aligns with the shared goal of maintaining diplomatic ties and working towards mutually beneficial outcomes.
A recent Pew Research poll revealed that 50 percent of Americans consider China to be the greatest threat to the U.S., while only 17 percent named Russia and 2 percent mentioned North Korea. This underscores the concerns and apprehensions surrounding China’s rise as a global power.
In conclusion, President Biden’s warm welcome to President Xi during their recent meeting is a noteworthy event in international politics. It signifies the importance of engagement and dialogue, even with nations regarded as potential threats. The exchange between the two leaders covered a wide range of crucial issues, demonstrating a commitment to finding common ground and fostering understanding. As the relationship between the U.S. and China continues to evolve, it is vital for both nations to maintain open lines of communication and work towards addressing shared challenges while managing respective interests.
