VIDEO: Biden’s Memory Slip on Presidential Inauguration Year

President‌ Biden’s ⁤Forgetful Moments

President Joe Biden appeared to forget ⁣the year he⁣ became president‌ at a campaign stop in Philadelphia on‌ Monday.

The 80-year-old ⁣president told supporters at the⁤ city’s annual Labor Day parade that “you got me sworn in ⁣in⁢ January of 2020.” Biden took office in January 2021.

Although staff in Biden’s administration,‌ such as White House‍ press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, have insisted that ⁢”it is hard for us to keep up with ‍this president”⁢ and that he has a “grueling schedule,” Biden ⁢suffers from frequent gaffes, often stumbling over his words, forgetting where he is, or‍ not knowing where he’s going.

In a July 2022 address weeks after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Biden ‌ read ‍ aloud ⁤directions ⁤on his teleprompter. Two ⁢months after Rep. ‍Jackie ⁤Walorski (R., Ind.) died in ‍a car accident in August 2022, he⁤ appeared to ask ⁣if she was in the room during a speech.

Lack of Confidence

Americans have lost confidence‍ that Biden ⁤can perform the duties⁣ of his⁢ job, recent polls‍ indicate. Seventy-three percent of voters ⁢believe that Biden is too old to run ‌for a second term, according to a Wall Street Journal poll released Monday. An AP-NORC poll from a week earlier found ‍that 77 percent of⁣ voters believe his age will make him unable to “effectively serve” for four⁢ more years.
