With President Joe Biden refusing to explain why he is letting a record number of illegal immigrants into the United States, a majority of likely voters now agree that it is because he is trying to create a permanent Democratic Party majority.

In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey shared with Secrets, 57% said the president’s goal is to let in enough supporters to keep the Democrats in power for decades, should they get the right to vote or have children who are automatic U.S. citizens.

The question was hooked to a claim on X from owner Elon Musk that the immigration crisis built by Biden is meant to benefit him and his party.

“Biden’s strategy is very simple: 1. Get as many illegals in the country as possible. 2. Legalize them to create a permanent majority — a one-party state,” Musk wrote. “That is why they are encouraging so much illegal immigration. Simple, yet effective.”

Many voters agreed, according to Rasmussen, though they don’t approve.

For example, in a related question, voters overwhelmingly opposed granting voting rights to illegal immigrants. Some 91% opposed that, including 87% of Democrats.

And 78% said preventing illegal immigrants from voting is a priority, including 68% of Democrats.

For now, most people believe there isn’t a big threat of illegal immigrants skewing the elections. Rasmussen said the nation is split, with 45% believing that the presidential election will be “influenced” by illegal immigrants and 44% disagreeing.
