Everything That’s Hot And Not From 2026 State Of The Union

The Federalist piece, written by Jordan Boyd, offers a satirical recap of a 2026 State of the Union address by Donald Trump. Framed as a “hot” vs. “not hot” rundown, the article highlights a series of dramatic, celebrity-tinged moments, proposed honors, and policy pledges presented during the speech, interspersed with social-media commentary and mocking commentary.

Hot

– U.S. Men’s Hockey Team: festivity of Olympic gold, with Trump awarding honors to players.

– World War II veteran Buddy Taggart: honored on the speech night and set to turn 100 on the Declaration of Independence’s 250th anniversary.

– Usha vance’s baby bump: the first Second Lady baby in 150 years and a focus of attention at the SOTU.

– Scott Ruskan: awarded the Legion of Merit for saving 165 lives during a Texas flood.

– War on fraud: VP JD Vance to lead a crackdown on fraud, inspired by Minnesota-related fraud revelations.

– Christian revival: calls for national unity under God and memorializing Charlie Kirk.

– Additional moments include praise for IVF and other celebratory notes about American family-building.

not hot

– Sitting: Democrats reportedly refused to clap for heroes or victims, drawing Trump’s critique.

– Somali fraud and insider trading: highlighted as sources of concern or mockery.

– Cheating in elections: emphasis on voter ID legislation (the SAVE America Act) as a remedy.

– Anti-Americanism: criticisms of Democrats for allegedly hating America.

– Dudes in dresses: a provocative aside, referenced with a link to a video.

– Other debates over IVF,border policies, and political rhetoric framed as controversial or oppositional.

The piece uses tweets, social-media screenshots, and sensational phrasing to convey a partisan, hyperbolic reading of the speech, ultimately portraying it as a blend of pomp, policy promises, and culture-war theater. It closes with the author’s bio and credits for the publication.

It’s official, the United States of America is, as President Donald Trump declared during his 2026 State of the Union address, “the hottest country anywhere in the world.”

The Land of the Free is hot, but it’s not the only in vogue thing that graced Trump’s two-hour Tuesday night speech. Here’s every significant moment from the late-night assembly ranked hot to not.

HOT

U.S. Men’s Hockey Team

Jack Hughes’ broken winning smile and Connor Hellebuyck’s presidential medal of freedom were the perfect cherry on top of the American team’s patriotic Olympic gold medal celebration.

Sharing a Birthday With America

World War Two veteran Buddy Taggart, who was honored by Trump on Tuesday night, will turn 100 years old on the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

.@POTUS honors World War Two hero Buddy Taggart in his State of the Union:

“Buddy earned many honors, including a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star, came home, started a family, and tonight, he is in the gallery looking forward to July 4th, 2026—his 100th birthday.” ❤️🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/qPG5GlRXGJ

Usha Vances’s Baby Bump

Speaking of birthdays, what better time to have the first Second Lady baby in 150 years than on (or around) America’s biggest birthday yet?!

Scott Ruskan

Trump awarded Ruskan the Legion of Merit for his heroic role in saving 165 lives during the July 4th, 2025 flooding in Central Texas.

War On Fraud

Vice President JD Vance will lead Trump’s war on fraud — a mission inspired by the Somali fraud revelations out of Minnesota.

.@realDonaldTrump officially announces that the “war on fraud” will be led by @VP Vance.

The fraud in Minnesota “reminds us that there are large parts of the world where bribery, corruption, and lawlessness are the norm, not the exception.”

Christian Revival

It’s what Charlie would have wanted.

🚨 JUST IN: The House chamber just broke out in cheers of “CHARLIE! CHARLIE!” as President Trump memorialized Char🇺🇸lie Kirk and introduced his widow Erika

“In Charlie’s memory, we must come out and re-establish that America is ONE NATION UNDER GOD!”

NOT HOT

Sitting

Democrats kept their rumps in their seats for most Trump’s lengthy speech. Their refusal to cheer for heroes like the U.S. men’s hockey team or honor victims of their deadly soft-on-crime and open border policies did not go unnoticed by Trump or SOTU viewers.

Somali Fraud

There’s no hiding behind the hijab on this one.

Insider Trading

“Did Nancy Pelosi stand up, if she’s here? Doubt it.”

LOL Trump is the funniest President of all time, zero debate.

Cheating In Elections

Congress should pass the “common sense, country-saving” Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act, which would mandate voters show identification before casting a ballot in federal elections. Failure to support such popular legislation, Trump noted on Tuesday, can only mean one thing: “because they want to cheat.”

🚨 BREAKING: President Trump demands Congress unite around passing the SAVE America Act “BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE HAPPENS”

“Why would anyone not want it? YOU WANT TO CHEAT!” 🔥🔥

He’s right. Saving our republic is not negotiable.

Praising IVF

Remember, Trump’s desire for more American babies is good. His bragging about lower costs for in vitro fertilization (IVF), a procedure responsible for the death of more unborn babies than abortion every year, is not.

Trump bragging about making IVF more affordable. 🤮🤮🤮

IVF from beginning to end is a sinful act & greatly harms children. It must be abolished. pic.twitter.com/q6ZuuuzT9d

Anti-Americanism

It’s no secret that Democrats hate America. They further publicized this disdain on Tuesday when they refused to cheer Trump’s declaration that “the first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.”

HOLY SH*T. The Democrats REFUSED to stand when Trump said that the duty of the American government was to protect American citizens, NOT illegal aliens.

Democrats OFFICIALLY hate America. pic.twitter.com/M4GN26P8Dg
